15 hr.'s at the least plz!!!!!
| Mummelmann said: The Jak games are way longer than the Uncharted games, I doubt that The Last of Us will be longer than 15 hours. I think I spent at least 20 hours of my first playthrough with Jak 2 and Jak 3 wasn't far behind. A couple of the Crash games were fairly long too. |
Read exactly what they said.
Longest. Campaign. Ever. Key words are inderlined. When they said ever, they probably also meant the time they created Jak 2. So logic dictates that The Last of Us will be longer than 20 hours.
Keep in mind that they have been developing this game for almost 4 years with the biggest budget and with their A team (uncharted 2 team) which is probably bigger now.
And Crash Bandicoot wasnt that long, It took me about 7-8 hours to beat each 3 of their games (maybe a little more on the 1st crash)
20h+ would be great, as long as it can keep you interested for that long. That's MGS3's length, more or less, and I think that game's pace was fantastic.

Bbut keyword(s) are "Easily longest" :> |
That is exactly what I was thinking. Perhaps they're talking about PS3 games but even if it isn't it's great news.
"it’s easily the longest campaign Naughty Dog has ever made."
If it wasnt longer than all their games, wouldnt they say something like: longest campaign than all uncharted games? Since its the only game they have on ps3

A sarcasm detector, that's a real useful invention.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
- George Orwell, ‘1984’
I was fine with a 10h campaign. The survival horror elements will make this game really intense. I remember I couldn't play Dead Space 1 or 2 for more than 2 hours straight because it was too much for me (I don't have this feeling with DS3 right now)...
Logically you would assume so since its much slower paced then Uncharted. So your gonna take twice as long to cover the same amount of ground you did in Uncharted.

There is no A or B team.
See these =
#TheLastOfUs is a @Naughty_Dog game, period. Not, “this one’s made by these guys, that one’s made by those guys.” One culture, one process.

“@joshscherr: @arnemeyer @kurtmargenau @wildspeculation Maybe it's time to edumacate NeoGAF on the whole "U2 team on TLOU" nonsense?” Agreed
— Taylor Kurosaki (@taylorkurosaki) December 8, 2012
“@kurtmargenau: TLOU isn't being made by "the U2 team". "U2 team" was spread to U3 and TLOU.” Lots of folks have worked on U2, U3 & TLOU.

Sigh, why do I read the gaf? If anyone's listening, TLOU isn't being made by "the U2 team". "U2 team" was evenly spread across U3 and TLOU.

Just correcting you :>

I think it's because of the theme of the game. Uncharted is an action packed game while The last of Us is a stealthy and survival horror game.
The last of us' gameplay I have seen so far requires a lot of thinking and strategy. You can't just go shoot or attack an enemy in there. You need to think your next move.
