Wish America was a bit more peaceful like Canada. Overall though, I enjoy being an American.

I actually don't envy any other country.

I love Australia, great people, great standards of living with a high GDP+Minimum and Average wages, great education, strong economy (One of the only developed nations not to go into recession during the financial crisis.), great natural environments and being a capitalist democracy, everyone has a chance to make it big.

Then I switch my vote to Holland I just want to be close to the Autobaughn and Nurburgring, pretty big car nut. I'd have to learn dutch though.....

Good choice! you can smoke pot and pay hookers ^^

OOooo I forgot about the legalized prostitution. Now my hookers are clean!

LOL, still I think Holland is a nice place, it's better then weird loophole laws in Canada and USA where it's legal to buy Weed seeds (In Canada) and legally be able to pay for a stripper escort, who will usually do hooker services.

However I wouldn't want to live in Amsterdam. Isn't it below sea level like New Orleans? I know it's not in hurricane alley, and the dams aren't American made, but still.

yeah, it's below sea level - so they're pretty much screwed once the water levels start rising ^^ And it'a FLAT country, so no mountains and barely any hills. What fucked up place is THAT?!

I live in the USA so I don't envy any other country.

I fail to understand the logic.

--------------------

Getting interesting results from both threads. People seem to envy countries with better economies (Germany, Japan, Northern Europe, Canada, South Korea) and dislike high profile, high population, and politically hostile countries (USA/UK and China).

Guess Cold is good, and too many opinions are not.

I'll spell it out for you then. I live in the United States of America which while not flawless has everything I want so I do not feel any need to move to another nation. I think after work I'll go target shooting, then have some Burger King, watch Star Wars and play some Halo 4. It's good to be an American.

Like I said I've love to visit many other nations, but I'll always come back to the land of the free and the home of the brave

You make it sound as if no other country has Burger King, or they can't watch Star Wars or play Halo :P And you're not the only country to be the home of the free and the brave :P We in Sweden enjoy everything that you listed, plus free healthcare, free education and less school massacres... And we haven't been to war for almost 200 years. That's almost as long as the US has existed...

And the OP makes it out as something negative that we don't have a larger military force? Why should we have that? As I said above, we haven't been in war for almost 200 years (next year it the anniversary!!), so that's actually a pro, not a con imo...

But I can envy the US for it's very large scoop; you can swim in the tropics, drive through the desserts and go hiking in the dense woods. That's kinda wonderful. And all the Mediterranean countries has such a long history and wonderful weather; what's not to like about that?!

No, no, no, I love the fact that Sweden has no military, I actually think Sweden is an awesome country, but I realize that most people reading this thread are American, and in the USA People like military for some reason. I actually couldn't think of a con for Northern Europe, but I felt to Americans, this might be one.

I'm Canadian, and I honestly admire Northern Europe. I think Europe in General is awesome because don't all NATO countries lack a boarder? Every country is so rich and Unique and the Beaches of Italy and France are probably just as far of a drive for you, as Florida is for me. I voted Germany because of good beer, and good car culture, plus the a good economy, and it's pretty smack in the middle of Europe, so you can drive anywhere (and without a limit in many places). Plus hot girls, but all of Eastern/Northern Europe has hot girls.

@kain - That's cool to like USA better then any other country, but that's not the question of the thread. It's what country do you envy most. Do you Envy Canada? We're not quite as gun happy, but in reality Toronto is a lot like Manhattan, and Vancouver is a lot like Seatle, just with better health care, less obesity, and more asian people. Those two cities, comprimise about Half of Canada's population, LOL.

I picked Germany because it lacks the flaws Canada has, and because in general, I like Europe.

Haha, that seems to be mutual. Germans also love Canada. To us it seems like Canada is like a mix of Germany and the USA, without many flaws from both countries :D

Id love to go to Japan if I could speak Japanese. I would of said USA but I just got back from there a few weeks back cool country and Hollywood paints it in a way it definitely isnt but I could only live there temporarily. The obsession with guns their is messing up there country and the stubbornness to defend there constitution rights is their achillies heel. I was quite suprised too how many americans dont know anything about any countries outside of America, I mean I dont think i watched one news station that reported on anything outside of America. I had quite a few people in America ask me about my accent and where Im from and I told them Im from New Zealand and they only knew where it was cause of Lord Of The Rings its like really!!!!? lol. Sorry not hating on Americans

but yea soooo anyway Japan hahaha.

Is Denmark below sea level???....I might just join you in Sweden, seems like the best place to be IMO. Sounds like a European Canada, with better looking women, heritage, and nicer cars.

Question, in Sweden do individuals vote on every law being passed? I heard that if the government wants to pass a contraversal law there, it has to also get majority vote. Mind you, I live in Canada, rumors of Europe tend to be a bit glorified/misinterpreted.

Vote for the March Most Wanted / February Results

whats with the weird grouping of AUS/CAN/NZ?

Not envying, but its inspiring that both the losers of WW2, Japan and Germany recovered from their defeats and rose to the top economies of the world.

No, Denmark isn't below sea levels - Holland is - but it's flat as hell though ^^

No, we don't vote on every law that's being passed - that's Switzerland. We do vote on big events though. Like when we switch from driving on the left side to the right. We actually voted AGAINST changing on what side to drive on, but the government just said "screw you" ^^ we also voted about joining the EU and NOT to join the EMU (the euro) - which the government listened to. So we do vote on the "big" things :p But we got like 7 different political parties which all stand for different things, so when we vote for them we kinda know what we're getting the next 4 years.
