Do you generally like 2D or 3D Mario games better?

While I like both types of platforming Mario games, I seem to enjoy 2D Mario a good amount more. I say this because 2D Mario is better for casual pick up and play fun. It goes back to the basics of gaming and when I feel like playing a simple yet quality game, 2D Mario seems to fit the bill.

What do you guys say?

I would have to go with can't choose.
3D Mario = Easier/Great.
2D Mario = Harder/Good.

3D is much better, at least recently.

Galaxy 1+2 are easily the best plats of the generation, and NSMB games felt lazy and incredibly easy. (NSMBU was an exception.)

SM3DL was bad.

3d mario, for the adventure.

I like 2D Mario, but I hope they're a bit more creative with the next entries. Mario games are fun, but it's tough to see Kirby getting a beautifully designed world and Donkey Kong getting unbelievable level design while Mario just gets the same old same old.

Recently, Mario's 3D adventures are great. Mario Galaxy is one of my favorite games ever, and 3D Land was quite excellent as well.

2D for sure, to this day no other 2D platform comes even close.

I like them both, but 3D more. However New Super Mario bros. U is a lot better than previous 2D Mario's

3D as I think you can do a bit more in terms of world design and gameplay.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

I hope they never stop making either.

Everyone seems to like 3D more.

I liked Donkey Kong 64 & Banjo-Kazooie much more than any 3D Mario game personally.

Also, everyone is saying NSMBU was the best NSMB yet so that's a good thing if I ever get a Wii U!
