I can attest to the fact that Russians do indeed play over Live. Last summer I was playing quite a lot of Halo Reach, and I got three invites to join Russian Halo guilds. Apparently my account name which is the same as hear, and is just plain total gibberish in English must mean something in Russian. I will tell you this though those people who sent me the invites were damn fine players. I am not talking skill here, but the fact that they were good team players.

So yeah from my experience you deserved to get banned, but if you said the French I probably wouldn't have all that big a problem with that. I don't know what they are saying to me, but I am pretty sure they are calling me dirty names, because they always laugh after whatever they said. I am really starting to think the British players have a point about the French players. Talking tongue in cheek here.

By looking at the link in the OP and the people who complained about being banned, I would say you're right, for the most part.

Never been banned from Xbox live. It seems like people can get away with a lot in messages. My friend used to send a ton of cussing messages to people that were camping or backstabbing in dark souls. Never had any consequence for it.

Yes, people live in Russia. And yes, people are playing Xbox, Sony and Nintendo games here, they have an official branches in Russia. And your post is arrogant and should be banned.
