So basically mercenaries ?

Why? No. Contract service, it's very common today.
Merceneries of modern age are PMCs, these people are often got involved in some nasty things. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya -- all over the place these days. There's a UN convention that prohibits use of mercenaries, but very few countries have signed it. And it doesn't stop some countries like Qatar from funding and arming mercenaries.
//Hey, I remember this guy now, I mean Kantor! We had a conversation a while ago, he considered war in Iraq a liberation or smth... very inspired young man. His post immediately reminded me about him, kinda expected point of view from a person of his beliefs :D

I still prefer mandatory service. It has much more perks
As for the OP. I do have a buddy who used to say when he is drunk: "Communism, capitalism, anarchism... even feudalism if you want it, as long it's not Jewish communism, not Jewish capitalism, not Jewish anarchism and not Jewish feudalism -- I'm fine with it", -- this way he'd like to remind me about my Jewish (though very distant) roots :D
I'm saying this only to point out that these things are...
Would the constitution be codified or uncodified?
Republic or Monarchy?
Democracy or Dictatorship? Anarchy? Direct Democracy?
Communism? Capitalism? or somewhere in between?
Human rights? or none?
Structure of government?
...more or less irrelevant.
A modified direct democracy - too long to go into in detail.
semi-capitalist - I like this.
Education and sport (good health) strongly encouraged.
Strict immigration policy - Helps negate racism.
Strong anti-racist policy - Citizens educated to eradicate this as best possible.
Atheist or one dominant culture (or liberal religion) that makes up 95% of population min - Look around the world. You'll see my point.
Strong military aims - a country must be able to defend itself. This is a no brainer.
Trade and relations with other countries regardless of political system (generally speaking), religion or race.
Aid to countries that are really trying to make a difference when or if my country is rich enough to provide this.
And a whole lot of other things far too much to mention.
Mine would be called the Grand Democratic Empire of Kihili and it would function as a constitutional monarchy with the Emperor/Empress at the top with final responsiblity for signing things into law. Below them would be the elected Prime Minister and Diet, tasked with debating and creating new pieces of legislation (Although the Emperor/Empress may bypass this and decree something to be law if they see a need to).
Our national symbols;
National Flag;
Currency (The Giggity);
Our national animal is the Pikmin, Our capital city is Tokyo, Our nation's land area includes the continent of Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, The Phillipines and Japan. Our current population is 876,500,219. Our national language is Japanese, which 99.9% of the population is literate in.
Basic Policies would be;
Economy; There would be a varying income tax rate (3% for those earning less than G$20,000 a year, 20% for those earning G$20,001-G$50,000, 33% for those earning G$50,001-G$250,000 and 40% for those earning G$250,001+), the sales tax is 15% and the corporate tax rate is 10%. For the last financial year, the government budget ran a G$3,250,000,000,000 surplus and national GDP was G$51,365,910,885,442. The giggity is currently worth 1.8145 2013 US Dollars.
The Government budget is $15,810,451,780,000 is divided between many sectors (Education 20%, Healthcare 15%, Social Welfare 11%, R&D 10%, Defense 10%, Space Exploration 10%, Environment 8%, Law and Order 5%, Administration 3%, Business 8%)
Military; Military service is not compulsory in Kihlli, except in times of war, in which compulsory service is decreed. If another nation attacks or is found to be planning attacks against Kihili then said nation shall be beaten into the ground. Surrender is not an option, only the complete collapse of the opposing nation is acceptable. Kihili currently maintains an arsenal of nuclear weapons and bombs which are stronger though leave no radiation, though these are kept secret from the outside world for use in times of necessity.
Rights; Discrimination against anyone by anyone on any unreasonable grounds (Race, Sexuality, Gender, etc.) is completely forbidden. Doing so and being found guilty results in a G$500,000+ fine or up to three years in prison. The government does not regulate marriage or relationships between consenting adults at all. The age of majority is 20 in Kihili. Guns are completely illegal outside of the Military, Police Force, Park Rangers and licenced farming establishments. Alcohol, Tobacco and Marijuana are legal, though it is legal for doctors to refuse treatment to abusers of these drugs so as to not make non-users wait longer for treatment. The death penalty is in force in Kihili and is used in cases of Paedophilia, Rape, Treason and Murder. Freedom of Speech is guaranteed for all Kihilian citizens. People shall be afforded the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, though foreign combatants in warzones have no such privilege and may be executed on sight.
Religion; Religion does not play a big part in Kihilian life. Shinto and Buddhist traditions are observed and Christianity and other religions are non-existent in the country.
Immigration; Kihili accepts 300,000 new citizens by naturalisation each year, as well as 75,000 refugees.
Welfare; Education and Healthcare are both 100% public-owned. National service is a requirement for the unemployed, who are in turn provided with accomodation and food stamps. The Aged Pension is currently G$400 per week.
Politics; The third and current Prime Minister is Shitoru Iwamoto, the leader of the ruling Kihilian Worker's Party, who currently have 39% of the seats in the diet and rule in a coalition with the Kihilian National Party. Elections are held every three years and voting is mandatory. Referendums are held for controversial matters and/or matters of utmost importance, where they must pass with a two-thirds majority, voting in referendums is also mandatory. The first and current Empress is Haruka Nakagawa, who has reigned since Kihili's founding 21 years ago in 2013.
TESTLAND
Republic or Monarchy I dont care.
Democratorship (meaning Its a normal democracy but I as the dictator can VETO everything the government is doing. So when they decide something I dont mind or care it gets passed but when something totally stupid is going on I will stop them. I myself cannot come up with own LAWS myself I can only VETO the governments plans/ideas/laws)
Communism in the sense of communism not the crap shit that the others call communism (everything should be shared equally etc. Not politicians abuse the system and get rich and the poor guys have to share the little bit they have with others etc)
No human rights but lifeform rights. = You are not allowed to kill animals on purpose unless you accept the consequences (lets say you kill a cow then you accept that you your rights are withdrawn and you can be killed by anyone who is bored etc.)
Hunt down lobbyists. Everyone that is in anyway connected to business is not allowed to become politician not even family members are allowed to become politicians then etc.
I am bored and tired and I hope my country is somewhat amusing :)
Btw water, energy, public transportation, hospitals, police, airports, post, internet service provider etc. All stuff like this is owned by the government and is working NON PROFIT! So prices will be cheap.

| Marks said: - Government responsibility limited to firefighting, police, national defence, and the courts. - Health care 100% private - Schools are privately run, but government funded under a school voucher system. More emphasis on real world skills, less on complicated maths/sciences that you'll never use unless you choose to become an engineer/scientist. - University/College 100% private - Military policy? We will NEVER invade another country or intervene in another nation's affairs. Our military is 100% for DEFENCE. - Roads are government owned, but all road work contracted out to private companies. i.e. No lazy ass city workers. - No welfare, no social security, no employment insurance, no social assistance - No stupid regulations on businesses or forcing them to change the way they are run. If the public doesn't like the way a business operates then stop fucking shopping there, we aren't going to force them to change the way they run so you like it better. I'm talking about things like wheelchair ramps here, if a business doesn't way to pay to put in a ramp then don't make them...but they will lose the business of all handicapped people as their punishment. - Gold/silver backed currency, we will not have a shitty fiat currency. - No corporate taxes, no tarriffs, extremely minimal income tax, an extremely low sales tax (like 1 or 2%) - Balanced budget amendment built into our constitution, we will NEVER run a deficit on purpose - Marijuana is legal for recreational use and can be sold at convenience stores. Will be treated no differently than tobacco. - All firearms are legal. Anyone can buy any gun, but most possess a government issued firearms licence. The licence itself is free, but you will have to pass strong background checks and a suitable safety/training course which will obviously cost a bit of money since someone must run it. - Carry and conceal is legal for anyone, nothing more than the aforementioned firearms licence is necessary. The only regulation I will put on firearms is a 30rd magazine is the largest you can have for FULLY automatic weapons. No bigger magazines or drums for assault rifles...but they are okay for semi-automatic rifles. - No minimum wage. The market will determine the wage level based on supply and demand. - No foreign aid. How is it constitutional to forcibly take money from people and then give it to another country? If a private individual wants to donate then good for him, but the government won't give away money. - Highway speed limits would be a provincial issue I guess...but it would be strongly recommended that they be something like 120km/h on single lane highways and on multi-lane highways it can be 140km/h or whatever. None of this bullshit 100km/h we have in Ontario now. - A better legal system. No bullshit loopholes that let murderers go free. Say evidence is illegally obtained without a warrant that proves beyond a doubt that someone is the murderer...he will still be charged, but since the evidence was obtained illegally the police officer(s) who found the evidence will lose their jobs and face charges for going around the law. I think that's as fair as possible, killers should not get off free for something like this. |
Well since your government brings in so little money your counrty wouldn't last to long.
When I read some people's vision of utopia, even North Korea suddenly has it's charme.
