I wonder if this graph includes all Windows Phone, Windows 8 tablet, etc devices? If the next Xbox does indeed run off of a Win 8 kernel maybe that means MS will be able to count those in the chart as well and have another leg-up on Apple!

Those are Pc sales only so doesnt include Windows 8 Sales neither Windows Phone Sales or Windows RT sales.

Windows Phone and tablet sales are merely rounding errors, so it has about as much effect on the graph as including Apple TV in the iOS sales (it does run iOS, but doesn't have a touchscreen or run any of the same apps).  The Xbox is selling reasonably well, but again it is not even close to the same league as the iPhone business.  You either don't realize how small the markets you mention are, or your mental image of Apple is stuck 5 years in the past.  Apple sold more iOS devices in the last 3 months than Xbox 360 has shipped its entire lifetime.

Dont compare Phones sales with Consoles...

Everybody needs a phone, console are for gamers, a much much smaller group of people, per example everybody with a 360 probably owns a Phone or Smartphone for that matter. And people replace Phones every year or other year, most people i know have the 360 since 2007 and 2008. Some RRoD but Microsoft fixed it for free.

Talking to the wrong guy, bud.  But I wouldn't be so quick to discount the numbers.  People replace their phones a bit more often than consoles, but certainly not every three months.

And if it weren't for Windows, Microsoft would just be another Adobe.

This argument has always bugged me. Yes, if we just disregard everybody's successes, they're all failures. What point are you trying to make?

The thread is saying Apple is nearly as big as Microsoft, but this would of not been possible without iOS. Still impressive for a companies that makes the software and hardware itself and limits the rights to use such software to itself, when windows is used by dozen of companies worldwide. 

Still not seeing the point.  You could also say iOS would not have been possible without OS X, and OS X would not have been possible without NeXT.  Could you just say what you actually mean?  Are you just trying to express how amazed you are at the success of iOS?  Do you just enjoy repeating truisms?

I would say that Microsoft is one of the very few successes of the licensing model, which usually is not a path to world domination.  I can't think of a computer company that made significant money from selling their operating system separately from hardware (Android gets a lot of activations but it's a money loser for Google). Maybe Novell in the old days, and QNX carved out a modest niche before being acquired by RIM (now Blackberry).  On the other hand, RIM, Nokia, IBM, Sun, Apple, all made big money on hardware locked to proprietary software (in some cases they did license the OS but this did not generate any signficant profit), some of them reaching the top of their industry.
