Forums - Sony - Assassin's Creed Liberation ships 600,000 units - Ubi "wouldn’t discount PS Vita"

From the-magicbox.com:

"Ubisoft revealed in its financial report that Assassin's Creed III: Liberation has shipped 600,000 units worldwide, the game did better than their sales forecast. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said "I wouldn’t discount PS Vita, right quality, it might work."

Seems like they're happy. Shall we start spamming Ubisoft to port Rayman Legends to PS Vita as well?

Agreed, make good games get good sales.

I guess 600,000 isn't bad, hopefully it will show Activision that they should put some effort into their Vita games...

It is a start, but if more 3rd party developers take a leap of faith (bad pun) then they will see their rewards in the long term, as they are bound to get more money if Vita can become a viable platform, since the price of games is so much higher than on the alternatives, such as phone and tablets (of course 3DS is the other option)

Hopefully they make another Ass Creed for the Vita.

That's actually an incredible number for a system with such a small installed base.

It's the same thing I said during the 3DS's dry spell, anyone who releases a high-quality IP right now will see an amazing level of market penetration. "Blue ocean strategy" I think is what the cool kids are saying. The people who said that launching with AC3 would kill it were especially wrong.

There is definitely a market for core games on the Vita. It's a good opportunity that publishers shouldn't let slip by. I'd be willing to bet that Vita owners are buying what's out there at a fairly high rate, with a lot of that being high-profit digital sales.

It's short-sighted as hell for publishers and developers not to expand the Vita market. It's another place to sell video-games and one where the competition isn't so fierce. If you make a good Vita game, there really isn't much chance that you're going to get choked out of the market by rival sales.

It still ranks in the top 10 downloadable too..the game will keep selling for a while. I need to pick up a copy myself :P

Glad to see those who take a chance on the system gets rewarded (AC:L, Ragnarok, monpiece, Oddworld etc)

Does it include bundles? My Vita came with it.

Have to say I think they could have done a LOT better with the actual game.

Well deserved, the game is pretty good and I'm enjoying it a lot. The history is good and the graphics are among the best on Vita now.
