Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ubisoft announce Rayman Legends to go multiplatfrom, all versions releasing in September

Ubisoft: We want to embrace multiplatforming to bring as much as we can to as many of our fans as possible.

Wii U fans: Cool, does that mean Wii U is getting Farcry 3 and Watch Dogs?

Ubisoft: Eat a bag of dicks.

I'll bet money that Lego City Undercover goes multiplatform too.

I thought the WiiU features would make this unportable.
Ubisoft must've wanted more sales and not liked the WiiU sales figures much. Good for them, this will get them at least triple the sales (probably considerably more)

Now for Bayonetta 2...and the circle will be complete.

Bayonetta 2 is DIFFERENT. Why do people not understand this?

Yes, but how different? It's not like ME1 wasn't ported to PC/PS3, Gears to PC, Razor's Edge to PS3/360 etc.

It took 5 years and a studio buyout for it to go to PS3, while even to get it to go to PC, EA supposedly had to make some deal with Microsoft (i forget what it was, but some bargain was struck).

As far as anyone knows, Nintendo owns the publishing rights to Bayonetta 2, the game, solely, while rights to the Bayonetta IP are shared by Sega and Platinum Games.

We could certainly see a situation where we get the a heavily changed Bayonetta 2:Sigma on other consoels. Put I doubt platinum wants to burn that bridge.

I have no problem with Ubisoft releasing a once Nintendo exclusive on other platforms (I'm not one of these fanboys who must have everyone "elusively" in order to enjoy my games), but here's where I have beef:

- Causes a 7 month delay for a game that is about to be released. Honestly, what is the point of this? The game HAS TO be finished by now.. While this doesn't effect me really as I'm not even planning on buying a Wii U till at least the end of this year, what of all the thousands of Nintendo fans who were eagerly awaiting this game? Really bugs me that Nintendo fans continue to be treated like second class citizens by these third parties, then they blame them when their rushed ports or shoddy games don't sell. I've never seen an industry more hostile to a consumer base as the gaming industry is to Nintendo fans.

- The hypocrisy of Ubisoft, saying they wish to "broaden their audience" for the game, yet Wii U fans get snubbed when it comes to Far Cry 3 and Watch Dogs. If you're going to let some whining PS360 fans pressure you into releasing Rayman on the other consoles, why not listen to the Nintendo fans doing the same for Far Cry and Watch Dogs?

Was going to buy this game, but forget it now. I can't buy it on principle, but also because of the fact that by the time September comes, there will be many other games I will want when I finally do invest in a Wii U.

oh grow up, last i checked PS3 owners bought more copies of the Origins that Wii owners did.

i personally wouldn't be surprised if the delay is caused by nintendo.

considering the leaked trailer with NFC features, the announcement of AC figurines releasing this summer (dissimilar to the one in the trailer but the design could've been revised), ubisoft ceo yves guillemot's comment about how nintendo "[...] will make the necessary changes to the machine to make sure that it continues to grow fast on the market" and the fact that an nfc update is coming to the wii u later this year..

wouldn't it make sense if it's all about timing/marketing? why release a game now when (possible) key features won't be available until later this year? perhaps nintendo will reveal similar nfc features (eg figurines à la skylanders) for the new 3d mario, pokemon x/y or (*drool*) super smash bros! i can understand people's frustration with the current software drought, but i'm cautiously optimistic regarding the reason for the delay. and really looking forward to e3! :D

i know the wii u sales are dissapointing, but i'm not convinced these ports are even gonna be worth it. Kind of reminds me of the whole Epic Mickey 2 thing.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Delayed with the game less than three weeks away? I hope they are sitting on a huge pile of inventory they are losing money on while they work on the ports.

Not releasing now just killed all momentum for this game. Look for it to under-perform across all consoles.

this game is off the radar now. god f*cking damnit.. not pissed that it gets released on something else, i'm pissed cause they delay a completed game so it will launch simultaneously.. a thing they didn't care for in case of AC3.. so much bull..
