If that's an average, I can't say I'm surprised at Ms being above Sony. Sony publish a lot of niche appeal games that just won't score highly.

Nintendo is on top, so automatically the list is good.

Activision if we take the entire history of gaming are probably right up there, though I'd argue Sony> MS

All in all, a good list.

see i cant take this list seriously because there is no 2k/rockstar/ take two (i get confused to who is the actual publisher) see when a company release games like red dead, GTA, bully, max payne and bioshock and somehow namco bandi is a better publisher then them makes me to just see the list as flawed

The top six spots are close enough to be virtually meaningless. I suppose Ubisoft has been brought down by some of the garbage games they've made.

Not that this really matters. It's kind of inconsequential to judge anything but individual games. I don't care if it's published by Milton Bradley, as long as it's a good.

I won't argue with the rankings, but I will say using metacritic is kinda like playing with fire...yes all good and all when it seems in favor when backing a company/game that you like but we all know that when it comes to averaging the slightest score can greatly tip an outcome. in recent examples we can take Halo 4, it would probably have a 90+ meta but the 20/100 through it completely off or over-hyping games like GTA4

Metacritic has been know for adding in some obscure gaming reviews while keeping some favorable(or atleast well-known) ones out, so lets be careful...

Just major publisher.  They are mid tier publishers.  I tried finding Warner Brothers but i couldnt.  They have so many companies O.o

Just major publisher.  They are mid tier publishers.  I tried finding Warner Brothers but i couldnt.  They have so many companies O.o


what defines a major publishers from mid tier publishers? if it comes to quality rockstar wins, if it comes to sales rockstar also wins. when it comes to brand awarness rockstar also wins. i know you didnt put the list yourself so dont think im arguing lol. im just curious as what makes a publisher mid tier or major
