In the same time frame? Oh yes... nothing could save him, aswell as millions of other people.

Nowadays? Unlikely.

Its not like he could walk on water or something, so nowadays he wouldnt be a danger to anyone. People are smarter now.

The FBI did hound MLK for a while, even as the FBI was infiltrating the KKK to try to dig up evidence on KKK acts against civil rights organizers, so its not as incredibly far-fetched as one thinks. The FBI under J. Edgar Hoover was equal-opportunity in how it pursued those it viewed as radicals or troublemakers, whether they were fighting for black equality or the preservation of segregation.

That said, i don't think the government killed MLK.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

That's just popular history.  Not the actual story.  It wasn't J. Edgar Hoover who started the investigation into King.  It was John F. Kennedy... and the investigation wasn't actually about MLK but about Stanly David Levidson who was a former communist party member who ran a MLK office.

Some communists were spreading around rumors that he was MLK's number one and only real advisor.  So JFK and RFK wanted to find the truth of it to make sure their push for Civil Rights wouldn't make them look like communists.

The stories of Hoover as some crossdressing evil leader of a shadow government are greatly exagerrated only because nobody wants to tarnish the legacy of the Kenedy's.

Really at the end the FBI was activly helping JFK.   I mean seriously... why would the government have killed him?  There is no reason.

Tin hat BS.

Dr Martin Luther Kings family wears tin hats.  His wife? Kids? Friends? They wear aluminum?  The 12 jurors?

Under US Civil Law, covert US government agencies were found guilty of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

I mean, why would Lyndon Johnson kill MLK?  That's just stupid.  Pass the Civil Rights act, but kill the leader of the Civil Rights movement?  The fuck kind of sense does that make?

Seriously what's the motive?

The family’s conclusion as to motive was to prevent Dr. King from ending the Vietnam War because the government wanted to continue its ongoing covert and overt military operations to control foreign governments and their resources

"No evidence" is... an ignorant lie

1)  the 111th Military Intelligence Group were sent to Dr. King’s location

2) the usual police protection was pulled away just before the assassination

3)'Military Intelligence set-up photographers on a roof of a fire station with a clear view to Dr. King’s balcony

4) 20th Special Forces Group had an 8-man sniper team at the assassination location on that day

5) Memphis police ordered the scene where multiple witnesses reported as the source of shooting cut down of their bushes that would have hid a sniper team

6) Along with sanitizing a crime scene, police abandoned investigative procedure to interview witnesses who lived by the scene of the shooting

This does not prove guilt. It gives reason to suspect wrong doing.  Wrong doing by politians and agencies; that lock up innocent Americans in Guantanamo, make up lies to go to war, kill hundreds of thousands of foreigners, and send aid in the form of weapons to dictators and religious fanatics. Just to name a few.

So... their conclusion is another crazy conspiracy theory.  Great.

They're just upset their family member got killed by some random racist and want to make sense of it to themselves.  That's all it is.

To answer the poll......it depends greatly on the country in question.

Outside the fact that most of that isn't actually true and comes from recorded unsworn testimony mostly by people without a strict knowledge of such things, and was only alowed at trial because the only burden of proof you need for such things is "A guy saw someone with what he thought was a walkie talkie so it must be the government."  They simply massaged peoples memories from 30 years ago to make in confusing enough to convince a civil trail jury of saying "fuck it it's only 100 bucks."

The article your reading doesn't even present the trial correctly.  It suggests that MLK was killed by a sniper team.  However, if you'll note.  The case is MLK family vs Jower and co conspiraters.   Who was Jowers?

He was a senile 73 year old man who said he got 100,000 and a rifle from a Mafia boss to kill Martin Luther King.  Weird huh?  So the government paid someone to shoot MLK, then had a government sniper do it... then framed a third guy?  Why the fuck would they do that?  That doesn't even make a little sense?

Read the closing argumenets, and you'll note how nonsense of a case it was by he himself having to jump around the fact that it's all hearsay and they have no REAL proof.  http://www.thekingcenter.org/civil-case-king-family-versus-jowers/

The stuff is just silly.  It's not even consistant with itself...It sounds like ancient aliens.

Most important is a the defense there.  It's a Defense for Mr Jowers.  The whole of the defense was "Mr. Jowers hardly had anything to do with the killing of MLK."

Mr. Jowers was found guilty... not the US government... and it was found that way because literally there was no defense.  It was just a lot of random hearsay crafted together into a big rambling conspiracy theory vs  "it was probably mostly the government."

So the whole of your proof is based on a Civil court case with no defense.

You could sue me and say that I and the government caused 9/11... and if all my defense lawyer says is "Oh, but he didn't do that much to cause 9/11"  Guess what the verdict will be?

It's nothing more but random hearsay bullshit from a case that was intentionally set up to do nothing but get the ruling it got.  You've been bamboozled, and if you've any sense you've realized that by now.

If you have any sense you will stop trusting your government. you are impossible to talk to. You asked for motive? Mlk went to jail 29 times and created an insurrection against the government. But no.. That doesn't satisfy you. You need evidence. I gave you enough evidence to warrant an independent investigation. But you think the govt is as innocent as a baby. So you dont want an independent investigation.

Case closed, show a picture of the alien guy, attack me, feel safe in your bubble.

You need to stop trusting your govt so much.
