Today we’re happy to reveal that Redbox Instant by Verizon will be coming to Xbox 360 in the very near future.  If you are currently a Redbox Instant beta participant, you’ll receive an email with a unique code to access the app on Xbox 360 in the coming days. Interested newcomers to the Redbox Instant beta can request entry into the beta by visiting www.RedboxInstant.com

Xbox 360 is the exclusive gaming and entertainment console launch partner for Redbox Instant by Verizon. A Redbox Instant by Verizon subscription package, priced at $8 per month for DVD or $9 per month for Blu-ray, combines four one-night credits for the latest movie releases at Redbox kiosks with access to a great catalogue of popular movies available for unlimited streaming.  Through the app, Xbox 360 movie fans can also purchase and rent the newest digital releases without needing a subscription. Redbox Instant by Verizon combines disc + subscription, purchase and rental viewing choices into a compelling destination so movie fans can always find a movie to enjoy.

Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to launch.

That sounds pretty nice ... I think. It's a bit confusing about what the actual value is.

Still, wow, how many movie streaming services are out there?

not really a service I have any interest in. Especially since it doesn't even do tv shows...

Well lest see.

If you opt for the 8 or 9 dollar one you get great value.

1. 4 free rentals from Red Box a month. That is a 5 dollar value in itself.

2. Then you get unlimited streaming so as long as you watch 3 more movies you make up your 8-9 dollar right there.

I signed up for the beta just to see their selection.

I currently use Netflix for streaming and Redbox kiosks for Games and new release movies.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Meh. a nice addition.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

That's even less newsworthy than if Amazon Prime came exclusive to Xbox. Worthless streaming services in comparison to Netflix. The DVD credits is a nice draw, but it won't retain customers who will realize that they don't use the streaming at all and can just pay the $1 per movie they want to see.

So you get 5 dollars worth of movie rentals a month for free and unlimited streaming all for 8 dollars.  So technically 3 dollars a month for unlimted streaming.

You're missing the point. I don't need to pay anything and simply pay the $1.20 for movie(s) I want to see and avoid paying the $8. And no, you get $5 of movie rentals per month for $8.

The big question here is, do I need GOLD?
