Wishful thinking.

They need to take drastic measures to make this a viable platform for developers. 1 failed product is all it takes for consumers to lose confidence in your company. Sony, don't let the Vita be a failed product. |
Every successful company has had at least 1 failed product

The wii is not the best home console this gen on paper, if you take the professional reviewer's word for it.. |
in terms of sales its #1 and will keep that spot, even though i believe ps3 will have around 95mil-98mil lifetime (being the fact they support it for another 4-5years

But they can't let the VIta be one of those though.
Vita is to Sony what iPhone is to Apple. It's one of their top-tier products, it costs millions in R&D and it needs to be selling well before new consoles hit the market.

Is that even possible at this point?

it can be saved with alot of attention it needs, I think people think it failed/doomed cuz of 3DS! Yes 3DS might have won by far but it doesn't mean that Vita will just die off. Vits still can be successful the second half of the year and can definitely obtain 25-30mil lifetime sales if done right! The race against 3DS is lost, but doesn't mean sony should take it lying down, but hey even if they fail ps4 is likely to dominate

As a long time Sony and Playstation fan this would make me smile. But sadly I just don't see it. The competition is too great and Nintendo and Microsoft have both proven that they both know exactly what they doing in order to succeed in today's video game industry.

I belive it is. They have lots of options. The obvious one is release more games for it. But here is Sony themselves can do whenever they please:
-Playstation Vita redesign
-Price Cut
-Rebranding
-Vita phone?
