Forums - Gaming - Can Sony dominate the next generation?

sure why not.

Still think MS is going to win cause of their sheer amount of $$ flow.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Backwards compatibility will be an absolute must, since the graphical jump from this gen to next gen will not be as big or as noticeable as previous generations. PS3/X360 games will still be viable for some time.

New games will have to be innovative in some way, whether it has a deep engrossing story, builds on the fun of old genre games, or some new mechanic or genre that we have yet to see. Don't ask me what that would be, I'm not a game designer. But it isn't going to involve tapping on a touch screen because virtually everyone can already do that on their phone or tablet. And waving sticks around is already done and out.

I think there is a very good chance the PS4 will come out on top next gen.

The Wii U had a pretty good launch, but is now selling like a dying console. I think the only thing that can turn it around now is a price cut of $80 and a large influx of great games. Even then, I don't see it being #1.

As for the NeXbox, it is going to be incredibly hard to beat the PS4 when they are both launching at around the same price and around the same time. PS4 will already have a HUGE advantage in EU and Japan. And if Sony can convince the core gamers in the US that the PS4 is the system for them, then they can take back some of that market share MS took from them this gen. Which may not be too hard, if rumors are true, and MS is sacrificing some graphical power in order to really push Kinect and Windows 8.

Trust me, the jump from PS3 to PS4 is going to be quite noticable. The only ones who say it won't are Nintendo fans who are praying that the PS4/NeXbox doesn't blow past the Wii U, taking the majority of 3rd party support with them.

the ps4 will sell 200m+

so yes. "_"

Yes
They would be Nr1 too if they wouldn't have used this stupid(but good) architecture and would have released at a reasonable price so the jobless people could have afforded a 600$ console.

The PS4 won't have the issues with the architecture cause it will be closer to a PC like the Xbox and the price will be low cause of AMD and Microsoft won't
a) release 1 year earlier
b) get this insane support from Japan thanks to $
c) get nearly every 3rd Party Dev on their ship for the first couple years.
d) have better Online Service if Sony is doing that great with PSN+ on the PS4(it is right now at least 3 times superior to XBL)
e) even come close to the insane 1st/2nd Party support Sony is preparing right now.

There is everything in prep what Sony is needing.
But we know there are always ways to screw things up but right now it sound to good to be true.

I hardly think PS4 will "dominate", but they have a chance of winning next gen. But so does Nintendo and MS right now...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Really depends on what sony and microsoft have up their sleeves. I dont really see any dominant system next gen though, i think we will see another even split
