| Scisca said: Personal arguments come from the fact that I write the same stuff a couple of times and you still can't understand it. It makes me start to think there is something wrong with you. And you keep on doing it in this post as well... 1. The difference it would make is that people outside of Australia would know what we're talking about. I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but it's not an Australian forum. I have proven so many times that googling it makes no sense, yet you keep repeating it... I'm out of words. As you have said (and many before you), you have your tax included in the price. People outside of Australia don't know what your tax is and don't really care, are you aware of that? Seems not. 2. It's not really a service. It's a different way to pay for the hardware. This "service" is just means for paying for it and we are yet to see you guys getting the same price for something in this industry. If you think that another crazy hardware price you're probably going to get for PS4 won't influence the price you get in such a deal - dream on. I wasn't whining. I asked you to use a currency that tells other people something. You guys started whining and acting like I was trying to violate your sovereignity and independence. I have no idea where such inferiority complex comes from and I'm really shocked by your reaction. To your Wii U price - talk about a flawed logic! I mean, are you even serious? Are you comparing a great offert you found somewhere with the MSRP in another region? That's not even a joke. MSRP in Australia is $429.95, is it not? You think you are the only people in the world who get better deals than MSRP? If you compare something, compare the same things. And you should really get your numbers straight, Wii U Premium costs in US $350, not $250. If you really got a brand new Wii U premium for AU$279, you got one hell of a deal.
To sum up the whole thing - it's pretty much as if you started talking in some Tasmanian language of the Aborigines and when asked to use English went on a rant, started proving that it's a legit and old language and in the end told everyone to use google translator, even if that language isn't included in it. I think it's a matter of respect for other users of an international forum. You took it as a blow to your sovereignity, which I think is just ridiculous. |
1. It's not an Australian forum, it's a WORLDWIDE forum, meaning that Australia is still part of it. Oh, and keep in mind that it's a FORUM (ie. One that involves voluntary reading of threads and articles). Nobody is holding a gun to your head to calculate the price of this. If you want to wait for a relevant article to post in USD then do so, but why are you asking the OP to re-edit an article that he's linked, huh?
2. Perhaps you're unfamiliar with such a concept. Retailers would NOT enter into such a deal (some offer interest free deals, but that's an entirely different concept), because they do not wish to be associated with high risks. Therefore, for Sony to accomplish something like this, they would either do it themselves or enlist the help of financiers per country, and would then set the NATIONAL price. There is NO retail competition at that, and monthly payments will more than likely be a set price, unlike the games sold at retailers, so your argument holds no water.
Mymistake. I meant the figures of USD$350. You know what that does, right? That makes my purchase CHEAPER than the US RRP if it's counted at parity. (379 / 1.1 = 344.54). My point is, you might think that the AUD has no power in the gaming industry, but it's just as relevant as it is with any other industry. Deal with it.
Your argument about languages does not take one thing into account: loss in translation. A simple example: The Bible. Started off in ancient Hebrew, to Greek, to English (there is probably a few more hops in between those). The result? A lot of pieces the English bible are criticised for misinterpretation of the original meaning, and that's what your reckless pursuit of "modifying the original" is doing, opening the cost up for misinterpretation. We know for a FACT that the article means AUD$50, because that's what they wrote. Once people start ASSUMING what people mean and editing articles, it no longer stays as original fact, but possible misinterpreted opinion. You want the true figure? Do some damn research into the matter. If you want a rough estimate, Google is more than capable of that. Once again, this is an INTERNATIONAL forum. Last I checked, Australia was still part of the international community.
