It would be hilarious if (see my sig) PS4 gets announced first but actually releases later then the next Xbox.

Relying on a companies history is panicking now? Id say you banking on a definitive launch this year is wishful thinking as its based on nothing Sony has done before, except maybe their handheld launch schedule, which was only in Japan the same year of announcing them.

They had to deal with the earthquake and still were able to release in Japan that year. Also check out the Xperia Z. It was announced at CES and goes on sale in a month. Recently they have been changing things all across the board while you're using data from 7 to 14 years ago.

Difference is, Kaz wasn't running the show then.  This is going to be just like the Vita launch.  Announced early 2011 and then launched in Japan, and parts of Asia, later that year.  At the very least, the PS4 will launch later this year in Japan and some regions in Asia, with a WW launch in early 2014.  Though, I expect them to want to catch the holiday season for the US, so will probably launch it in the US this year, too.  Either way, MS isn't going to be getting much of headstart, if any at all.  Good luck, MS.
