I actually expect both to release later this year (even if one is in Oct, the other Nov). Don't expect anything like this gen, however, and the notion (though not from you) suggests either wishful thinking or panic. :)

Relying on a companies history is panicking now? Id say you banking on a definitive launch this year is wishful thinking as its based on nothing Sony has done before, except maybe their handheld launch schedule, which was only in Japan the same year of announcing them.

They had to deal with the earthquake and still were able to release in Japan that year. Also check out the Xperia Z. It was announced at CES and goes on sale in a month. Recently they have been changing things all across the board while you're using data from 7 to 14 years ago.
