Forums - Gaming - Kevin Spacey uses PS Vita on Netflix Show ‘House of Cards’ (And MS was kind enough to allow more people to see it!)

do these types of promotions actually work? i feel like no.

eh. Xbox has taken the place of the ps2 in almost every movie I see. I dont think this one even will have a big impact.

That's so goofy! Still, I can't blame them, advertise where you can.

However, "get one for the car" is just weird writing.

Edit:  The one that always gets me is anime.  Like 90% of the gaming devices you see in anime are a PSP clone.

Kind of silly advertising, but hey it's better than nothing I suppose.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

I think this is good. They should continue doing this, maybe pay to get Vita in some other popular shows. X-box and Wii appeared in How I Met Your Mother, so why not Vita? If this was done on a more consistent basis (in every movie/tv show that Sony produces and in the most popular shows they don't) it could have a positive effect in making people think that this is something they should get, cause they see it all the time. But it needs more than just one appearance in one show.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Not unless the advertised product plays a key role in the plot. Otherwise it's just randomly thrown in there for no good reason and it goes over most people's heads. There's a reason why product placement worked in E.T. but not quite in Transformers.

Happy Endings usually has a couple of PS3 controllers lying around and games on in the background...but then again hardly anyone watches that show, which sucks because I love that show!!

Microsoft and Sony also both advertise Nintendo products. Don't believe me? Just search 'The Wizard' on NetFlix ;)

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I think nintendo is the only one that doesn't have to worry about advertising others products as they are focused only on gaming. Sony and MS are competitiors and partners at the same time. makes it hard.
