Aren't Wii U sales higher than the PS3 and 360 within the same timeframe from their launch?

I don't think any next gen consoles will sell as much as this gen. I think higher price points, lack of real innovation, and more inexpensive video game options elsewhere will cut demand for next gen consoles.

I do still think the Wii U will still sell the most because it has shown, as far as I know at this point in time, to be the innovative and shows differentiation.

I will start this by saying I don't believe any of the consoles will be failures. That being said I do believe that all the new consoles will have the same growing pains as the WiiU is currently having. The economy sucks, it will continue to suck if the economist are correct in that we will see less than 3% growth (US) for the foreseeable future. So the sales of the new console will be cannibalized by the last gen until the libraries of each console become established. The promise of games no longer really sell hardware, the software being out does. So until then the consoles will the large library of games and cheaper prices will sell better then the new console who don't have the software and will have a larger entry price.

That is unless the companies stop selling the consoles as soon as the new ones come out, but that runs risks.

The PSVita will win this Gen overall. I know, I know. It's not a "home console" but hear me out...

Most people still love traditional controllers and the upcoming PS4 control seems to be that with added functionality that won't get in the way. I can't say the same for the Wii U Gamepad which is either you love it or hate it.


You can always improve it. Make it more ergonomic and stuff. It would be nice, to have a even better controller. I am handling the dualshock for 14 years, I am kinda tired of it.
