Mummelmann said: Yeah, apparently the Wii U is not what the mass market wants. And the PS4 and xbox 720 will be no different, none of them will reel in the casuals this gen. Its a nice sentiment though, if you assume that the Wii U is going to win that must mean that the next PS and xbox will move less than 45-50 million each at the most, that's a drastic drop from the 7th generation hardware sales. Also, OP, shouldn't you be creating hit & run religious threads? |
Not a single PS3 owner is a casual gamer. I think everybody that had a PS3 this gen will buy the PS4: 70 million units, not bad at all

that's a bold face lie

Yeah, I didn't even bother to adress that one, first off he misinterpreted my post entirely (like I said in my reply to the other guy) and second, the claim itself is silly. By this logic, the PS3 should reach about 140 million or more lifetime since the PS2 installed base was that big.
The market is changing, nothing is guaranteed at all and claiming that A: PS3 doesn't have any casual owners, and B: one PS3 sale equals one PS4 sale by default shows a general lack of basic understanding of how the market and economy works at the core and the fringe.
