What's with this lack of sense and insight, prevalent these days?

The PS2 led its gen. That didn't make the PS3 lead during its gen. The Wii led its gen, but like the PS2, this doesn't guaranty that the Wii U will lead its gen. At all.

I mean, seriously... -__-

What's with the lack of sense and insight.

3DS was weaker than Vita, that didn't mean Vita  destroyed it once it launched.

Wii U is weaker than PS4, that doesn't mean PS4 is going to destroy it when it launches.

No one in this thread has been going on about Wii U leading next gen. They're mocking people who think WiiU stands no chance against the likes of PS4 because it will have better hardware.

Ok... That was basically the point I made with my comments Did you miss anything?

You lack reading comprehension apparently.

Maybe. Or maybe you do. Care to explain? If I missed something, I'd like to be told what it is.

Because the way I see it, I'm saying that the outcome won't be decided based on past performances. You're saying that people are mocking people based on... what nobody knows yet. Anything could happen. The Wii U may or may not start selling heavenly and outdo its competitors. Mocking people over something that has no grounds for debate isn't really going to push the conversations in a constructive direction.

Yeah, we pretty much all know PS4 is going to be more powerful than Wii U. That doesn't need any debating.

And no, I'm not going to spend time explaining anything to you.

But that isn't what I was talking about... ¬_¬

It could negatively impact Wii U in the short run, sure, but we can observe that Nintendo's basically surrendered any interest in having good sales this quarter to try to bulk up next quarter and beyond, so to use a military analogy, Sony can't kill any soldiers in a position Nintendo's no longer defending anyway

Hype will be on Sony's side; but all the normal launch-day problems will be there for the Orbis once we get down to the holidays: the ever-comparatively-poor launch lineups, price, supply constraints, while Nintendo this holiday will have their "Gears of War" equivalent (which may or may not actually be a graphical beast for Wii U's sntadards, but rather will be the first wave of games that really show what the Wii U's about)

As for Microsoft, like kowenicki said, Microsoft's stronger presence in America will give them a leg up on E3 hype in any circumstance.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I was responding to you saying " You're saying that people are mocking people based on... what nobody knows yet."

and

"Mocking people over something that has no grounds for debate isn't really going to push the conversations in a constructive direction."

In response to my previous post:
"They're mocking people who think WiiU stands no chance against the likes of PS4 because it will have better hardware."

See, I was right. You reading comprehension is so bad you don't even understand what you yourself are saying.

Announcing prior to E3 actually makes me assume Sony views PS4 as a weaker system (hype-wise not power-wise) than what MS has. So to avoid getting overshadowed (remember Move Vs Kinect?) they'll announce early and have a whole couple months of hype before MS steals the show.

As for WiiU - well, at least it has Vita to keep it company at the bottom of the sales charts.

I'm not sure it will have a big impact on the wiiu since it's gonna be targeted as an addiontal system for hardcore games and not your one and only system. The system which will be hurt the most by the announcement is the PS3. Exclusvies like Beyond Two Souls and The Last of US will feel last gen'y and ps3 shoppers will start holding out for the PS4. The ps3 is still pretty expensive for something that will be replaced a few months from now with a new iteration which likely won't be all that much more money unless Sony is planning another 600 dollar console.

Yet nobody I replied to mentioned anything about the power of the hardware... People mocked the PS4 and the Vita because they didn't fare as well as Nintendo's systems during their respective gen, and they did while implying that the situation would repeat itself during this gen.

I was never commenting based on the power of the system.

And you talk about my reading comprehension?

Ehh. I don't think it'll steal anyone's thunder. All the consoles will do fine.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

You know what, I'm going to take some time to explain.

. People have been going on and on about how WiiU will be stepped all over by PS4 and 720 because they will be more powerful and 'next gen'.

. Turkish makes thread in which he says  WiiU won't attract much attention compared to the 'next gen' PS4 because you know, many people don't consider WiiU 'next gen' by their standards.

. N-magic laughs at Turkish because he sees this is similar to how alot of people think 3DS wouldn't stand a chance once against the Vita because it would have more powerful hardware and be 'next gen'.

. You jump in talking about how just because a hardware maker's recent console was the market leader, that doesn't mean it's new console would be market leader, which had shit to do with n-magic's point. He never said anything like ' Wii U would beat PS4 in sales because Wii sold most last gen'. He was merely scoffing at people who always seem to think the weaker console would be dominated by the more powerful console just because it is more powerful and fits their standard of what next gen should be.

. I point this out to you.

. You replied with 'That was basically the point I made with my comments', when it actually really wasn't .

. This prompted me to believe that you lacked reading comprehension because what you said was not the same point as what N-Magic and I made. You were pointing out that  a console was not guaranteed to be gen leader just because its' predecessor was. We were pointing out that it's stupid for people to think PS4 would step all over Wii U just because it was more powerful.

And so on and so forth, blah blah blah, yadee yadda, etc, etc...

The way I see it, both your interpretation and mine could be correct.

But I re-read the thread, and what you say isn't what I got from the replies here. I already explained how I saw it. Even Turkish didn't mention the power of the hardware per se. He mentioned the hype and even mentioned how, in his opinion, Microsoft (coming with a console more powerful than the Wii U ^_- ) would struggle against both Nintendo and Sony. So, pardon me if I didn't interpret it the way you did, mister Nintendo's white knight.

So, to keep your line of thought, PS2 was the least powerful of its gen (if you dismiss the Dreamcast), yet it suceeded over all the others. =P
