You know what, I'm going to take some time to explain. . People have been going on and on about how WiiU will be stepped all over by PS4 and 720 because they will be more powerful and 'next gen'. . Turkish makes thread in which he says WiiU won't attract much attention compared to the 'next gen' PS4 because you know, many people don't consider WiiU 'next gen' by their standards. . N-magic laughs at Turkish because he sees this is similar to how alot of people think 3DS wouldn't stand a chance once against the Vita because it would have more powerful hardware and be 'next gen'. . You jump in talking about how just because a hardware maker's recent console was the market leader, that doesn't mean it's new console would be market leader, which had shit to do with n-magic's point. He never said anything like ' Wii U would beat PS4 in sales because Wii sold most last gen'. He was merely scoffing at people who always seem to think the weaker console would be dominated by the more powerful console just because it is more powerful and fits their standard of what next gen should be. . I point this out to you. . You replied with 'That was basically the point I made with my comments', when it actually really wasn't . . This prompted me to believe that you lacked reading comprehension because what you said was not the same point as what N-Magic and I made. You were pointing out that a console was not guaranteed to be gen leader just because its' predecessor was. We were pointing out that it's stupid for people to think PS4 would step all over Wii U just because it was more powerful. And so on and so forth, blah blah blah, yadee yadda, etc, etc... |
The way I see it, both your interpretation and mine could be correct.
But I re-read the thread, and what you say isn't what I got from the replies here. I already explained how I saw it. Even Turkish didn't mention the power of the hardware per se. He mentioned the hype and even mentioned how, in his opinion, Microsoft (coming with a console more powerful than the Wii U ^_- ) would struggle against both Nintendo and Sony. So, pardon me if I didn't interpret it the way you did, mister Nintendo's white knight.
So, to keep your line of thought, PS2 was the least powerful of its gen (if you dismiss the Dreamcast), yet it suceeded over all the others. =P
