My contribution to this thread would be something like this. People of minority get more scholarship opportunities than white males... makes no sense. It should be determined by sheer intelligence... because someone is black they get to pay less for school. Stupidest shit I've heard. When I was filing out scholarship applications at my school I came across one that said you have to be black and less than 3.0GPA... so we are rewarding people for being dumb

If they really want to help disadvantaged people, they should do it on the basis of means.
Means would be some sort of qualifier but I still don't agree with giving dumb people money just because they are poor. A scholarship represents a investment in my opinion and investing in a bad stock is a bad idea.
now your discriminating against the poor because they dont have the same means of edjucation to recieve high grades. even if lets say that that a poor kid and rich kid are going to the same school, the rich kid is getting higher grades. who should recieve the scholorship? definatly the poor kid. the rich kid has the money to recieve an edjucation, the poor kid doesnt. this way you have two people getting edjucated instead of one
That is just a silly argument. Poor people (like myself) can get straight A's... what you said is just completely inaccurate. My income last year was 12,000 dollars which is poverty standing.
i didnt say that poor people cant recieve high grades, i said poor people dont have the same means to recieve higher grades like rich people do (private schools and private lessons for example)

Okay, so we should waste money on dumb people who wont excell in college or a job afterward?
how do you know that they wont get a job after?
Because jobs of importance require things such as internships and look at grades and other stuff. Internships are going to be more availble for the people who work with professors and excell in the class room.
Even if they do get a decent job if they didn't have a firm grip of the concepts in school they will struggle in their job and most likely wont last long hence the part you missed stating "excell in college or a job"
