Freaking TLOU had to scare away GTA. Or was it Marcus Phoenix's blond brother. Most likely the city in the sky really. Only EA releases their big games next to each other.

wouldn't count on it, a 4/5 month delay wouldnt be enough to port a game as big as GTA5 to WiiU. also i wouldnt think that rockstar would fuck with their financials just to release a game on a console that has a userbase of 3 million at the moment when they could easily just release it spring on 360/PS3 and release it in september on WiiU. this game has reportedly been delayed alot, i think its just another delay to ensure quality and polish

That is a very good question, but why would the consoles sell less because of it? Why can't be the game the one that gets hurt and sell less?

And what will happen if one of the next consoles is backwards compatible but the other one no? Could/Would that affect their initial sales?

About the delay, if the delay is necessary to make the game as good as possible then so be it.

@ bolded I don't think the game sales would be affected because people are attracted to a console because of the games available on it and not the other way around (hmmm that seems kinda weirdly worded). I guess what I am trying to say is that GTA is as much a console seller as much as it would keep gamers off  of buying a new console .

Awesome.. plenty of time to steal a car, run over 2 hookers, finish them off with a baseball bat, steal their money and then buy the game on release date..

Let's just say that Nsanity must be a tougher man than me if it made him "almost" cry.

I guess nintendo paid them tons of money for a simultanious Wii U release.

makes sense :ps360 sales would skyrocket for weeks with an april gta release and wii u sales would go even more down

With a Wii u release in september Wii U would be the only the console with GTA 4 and the sales should climb.

(8month should be enough for a port when the most work is done until know for the ps360 most of the developer team is no longer needed and the rest is debugging and betatesting.

 

imo this also is good news for bioshock and the last of us,now not being wiped away by  gta sales.

fine by me,i can wait and it gives these spring releases some air time
