They might be referring to the games themselves rather than the consoles.

Sounds possible.

That's what Nintendo fans dreams but the reality is other.

PS4 or Nextbox will have at least 10x (1000%) more power than Wii U... PS2 to Xbox is only 30% gap.

That is a bad quote... apparently here is the full quote from the recording.

A: So, couple of things. First, you never count Nintendo out. They've got some of the best IPs in the game industry, when their marquee titles show up, that's when you usually see the bounce. I'm deeply respectful of the achievements they've had over the last several years, and so yeah, never really count them out.

Having said that, I wouldn't say that we see much correlation between the results that Nintendo have just shown with the console debut of the Wii U and what we see coming. We see a pretty sharp distinction and unfortunately I'm unable to go any further than that.

Ours is an industry where a lot of devices come in and represent themselves as the next generation or the next generation after that. You know in many ways, we would argue that the gen— what we're describing as "Gen 4", is yet to come — and it's that we're excited about, and that's what we're investing in, and frankly we've been quite consistent with that for some time, recognising the frustration our inability to articulate precisely why, causes for you.

It probably is even a bigger disparity, as a matter of fact, I heard the difference is like Dreamcast vs Xbox1.

the 'gen4' bit is an internal definition they are using. I saw several users saying it's most likely defined by the 3d engines by DICE or something. Bascially they are saying wiiu doesn't meet that requirement but they also give it a nod by saying it is infact next gen system. (the latter is most probably based on the time of release than anything else)

EA may be saying that (and I kind of think EA is ridiculous for all the weird decisions they make), but you could be jumping the gun by saying the Wii U doesn't meet the requirement.

Another point I was going to get to but it didn't fit in with my post. However, only time will tell. At least EA is saying nice things about WiiU and Nintendo. That's a change.

So what they're saying here is that what they shown isn't really living up to the potential of the Wii U with what's coming up?  Or can it be said they are referring to the next gen Sony and Microsoft consoles being distinct from the Wii U?
