Forums - Gaming - Fuse Delayed Until At Least April

EA has delayed Fuse to the first quarter of its 2014 fiscal year, placing its release some time between April 1st and June 30th, 2013.

Fuse was previously scheduled for March, but EA COO Peter Moore explained during an earnings call this afternoon that it will receive some “extra work” which he promised will deliver a “big payout.”

Fuse is the first multiplatform title from Insomniac Games. It was originally called Overstrike before being renamed last year. For more on how it’s evolved, read our interview with Insomniac CEO Ted Price.

Does it even matter when this game gets released?

Smart call. March is as crowded as any October/November.

Edit: Of course it matter when it releases. It is a new ip. Lot of people are down on it but if it turns out to be a solid game with nice 4 player coop. It could do well. That was one of the major selling points of Borderlands.

"promised will deliver a “big payout.”

You can't just make a generic AAA-budget shooter and rake in the money. It has to be stand-out.

I had to search for this thread because I knew one was made but it hasn't recieved any attention.

A delay is never a good thing, especially from insomniac they have a lot of experience with current gen and more specifically the ps3's unique hardware. The game doesn't have any hype around it as this thread kinda shows. Also, as soleron has pointed out you cant just expect to throw money at something to bring in money. The "extra work" in my opinion translates to "the game isn't fun or is buggy/glitchy and we need more time because we think that we can do something in the extra month that we couldn't do its entire development cycle yet"

Yeah, I heard about this. Honestly, while I'm sure the game will be fun, I think it's being sent out to die. It's disappointing to see because I love the co-op from Resistance 2, and I think this will be similar. But no one seems to care.

They made a mistake changing the aesthetics, it's as simple as that. The gameplay actually looks fun but I don't think this title is on anyone's radar. It simply fails to catch the eye.
