It's already behind PSV's weekly pace, as you can see in the YOY comparison I posted above. I wouldn't bet against it. Nintendo owns Japan, eh?

WiiU really does not matter, the thing could be discountinued and Nintendo would still own Japan, at least for this year. Should I start listing the releases of 3DS for 2013.

OT: I guess there was a new shipment for Fantasy Life, and I really wasn't expecting those two PSV. But still quite a meh week. Now, the countdown until WiiU gets below the infamous 10k.

Why would you even say something like that? LOL - if it was discontinued, it would ruin Nintendo's image especially in the eyes of third party devs. Pretty sure they dont care about short term sales, its all about life time. Even if sales of the Vita or the Wii-U are low atm, it can be changed due to game releases, bundles, price cuts, etc. Besides its not like the systems are selling at a point of death (i.e. double or triple digits).

Just because it does well with one system but not the other doesnt mean it should go on and throw the one that's selling bad out of the window. Same with Sony - its the decision they made going both platforms, if they ever decide to back out on either system - it would tarnish their reputation and would make third parties think twice before releasing games on any systems they make in the future.

Pretty sure is the same reason why Microsoft keeps releasing their systems in Japan as well and I'm pretty sure they'll continue with the next Xbox regardless of how bad it might sell, the point is you dont/wouldnt want your competitor to get 100% hold on a region even if they have a 90% hold - the fact that you hold 10% (these are not exact numbers  - this is an example) means something.

Its one thing to make cheap shots against Sony but please remember be careful what you say about Nintendo lol.

O.o I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't talking about the future of WiiU, just countering Pezus' statement that Nintendo wasn't owning Japan.

Of course Nintendo will keep producing the WiiU, even if they fall to XBox levels, until they release their next console, but the point is that 3DS is the dominant console in Japan, and poor WiiU sales wont change that.

Why is Psp still outselling Vita by a healthy margin??? Vita needs a price cut and more support asap...

The Vita is getting (Japanese) games, now, with more coming soon. I'm pretty much convinced that most of Japan is waiting on the expected price cut. If that's the case then, even though the new games don't appear to be moving hardware, the eventual effect of building up a library should be a positive in the long run. Every game helps.

I think we're looking at a 3DS situation with the Vita where no one wants to buy something that might drop in price the next day.

I can't believe it, those are Vita games! Still not enough of a boost to get the console above 10k and it can only go down from here...

Coincidentally, how long until the Wii U tumbles below 10k I wonder? Late February?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I´ve never played an Animal Crossing game, why is it so appealing to women in particular?

in two weeks id say.

Dear lord, Japan is looking like a very small market at the moment. I don't think next gen rumours are helping. The media in general just seem to underestimate their effect on these companies. If they really wanted quality games and quality hardware, they would realise that slowing current gen sales down can impact next gen specs. More revenue from current gen and bigger profits for the companies would mean greater investment for their future projects. But it would be asking too much for the industry to understand that.
