Nintendo Software Technology, Nintendo's other, less well-known Western studio (the first being Retro, of course). To my knowledge they're sort of an auxiliary studio that helps with bits and pieces of other Nintendo games, but they are responsible for the Mario vs Donkey Kong series.

According to wikipedia, they also worked on Pokémon Puzzle League, Wave Race: Blue Storm, the GameCube release of Ocarina of Time Master Quest, and Metroid Prime Hunters.

Are some of NST's better games.

My guess is that they're in a rebuilding phase for their game development side. Like you said they also do a lot of programing outside game development i.e. porting games, emulation, debugging..etc

Sorry also didn't realize the date of the original article but it was news to me (and others it seems), and they only recently confirmed his role as Game Designer at NST.
