It's been #1 on Amazon.JP for some time, like Animal Crossing was, but it's a remake and DQ7 was easily one of the worst in the series. However there are a lot of kids with a 3DS who won't know and that will boost sales. Further, there's a software dry-spell for Nintendo in Japan so people are probably itching for a new game to play.
Also it won't sell much outside Japan, but would still provide a tiny boost unless it's never released.
