OT: I was rather surprised when I saw WiiU's EUR sales. Why is there such a difference between there and NA/JAP?

Like the OP I'm also curious, were they ever that popular in the UK?

Nintendo is in tough with Europe this generation it looks like, but it would be foolish to count them out indefinitely.

I would say yes, starting this October, but maybe you're referring specifically to home consoles. In which case, yes, but maybe not so soon as this October. Maybe not till November.

Well, to be honest in most Shops I have been in Austria the Wii/3DS is marketed to Kids and the kiddy games have much showroom. And as you grow up you swap over to the Playstation for Fifa, Gran Turismo, etc.

It is funny how times have changed. Few years ago when I was going to work by Bus I saw the kids playing with their Nintendo DS... Nowadays they all have a smartphone and toy around with it (videos, Music, etc). I had to laugh last week when I heard two kids arguing how GAMELOFT is the best game company of the world...

We're all too busy playing FIFA to buy more gaming systems, so no :P

Its not like we're bias or anything, the Wii U is just not appealing at the moment with its current line up. I assume when mario kart comes out in the fall sales will explode. Same with Zelda HD and other of Nintendo's strong franchises

The UK is full of strange folk. They always preferred Sonic over Mario.

In the 2D days Sonic was better than Mario so it was only natural. :P

Unfortunely 3D came after that and all changed.
