If we were talking from Q1-Q3, then your point of 160 million would be valid. I think we just had a misunderstanding but at the end of the day we are saying the same thing but differently lol.

Yes, and they are in the report because the report is talking about this isolated year. If it wasn't isolating the year, Nintendo would be showing outrageous profits because of all the money the made before the last two years. So it's okay to isolate a single year -- to pretend, for a moment, that the other years and their financial results don't exist, for the sake of analyzing the results of one year and one year only.

So if we want to analyze the results of one quarter and one quarter only, we must isolate that quarter from the others around it. If you add up all of Nintendo's money through the years, all of their finances, before the start of the quarter Oct-Dec 2012, they had $X. As of the end of that same quarter, they had $Y. And the difference between X and Y is approximately $450. Maybe that's not factoring in appreciation and depreciation of property, but you get the point.

They are projecting about a 14.2 billion operating loss for fiscal 4th, but ordinary loss of 2.8 billion, so next quarter they are counting on yen to boost 11 billion or so.  The interesting number we can extract from this is off of an additinal 127 billion sales for the quarter, that's about 11% loss.  Just 1 million additional units of Wii U is able to drag down 500k of Wii, 2.3 mil of 3DS, 150k of DS and ALL the software combined.

1st 3 quarters 3 mil Wii U vs 17.5 mil others, roughly 6 times.  For 4 th qtr, 1 millin vs roughly 3 million, just 3 times.  As of 3rd quarter, operating loss was just 1% of net sales.  We know hardware is roughly 2x the revenue software generates so it's truly astonishing how much loss Wii U hw is generating.  I don't know if they maybe priced in a price cut, even a 50 USD or 4500 price cut will drop or 4,500,000,000 yen in losses just that quarter.  I have to wake up early for a board meeting, otherwise it'd be fun to decipher the numbers to see if the wii U loss margin is bigger than what were in previous quarters, thus revealing a price cut, or not, this quarter. (I eye balled the numbers so don't get too riled up if Im off a bit)
