Forums - Sony - Sony needs to put some sort of limit on team ICO

What should Sony do with Team ICO?

Let them be 32 21.77%

Set a concrete date for them to be done 42 28.57%

Make them show progress o... 71 48.30%

Total:145

I heard the game was gonna be finished, until they ran into problems with the AI, they had to completly redo the entire game. The team morale is very low due to this disappointment and pressure from Sony. It was too ambitious, but it will be finished.

Its really ridicilous, its almost a decade their last game came out. Last Guardien needed to come out 2 years ago and they should've been working on a PS4 game by now.

Team ICO won't exist in its current form after Last Guardian, it'll either disappear or get additional staff, they won't be that small cozy team taking their time anymore.

Whatever happened to praising Sony for giving devs complete freedom?

Plain incompetence, select artists and programmers that actually do their work there should be outsourced to SSM and the game/project tranferred there after GoW:A releases and Team Ico should be shut.

Harsh, but simple logic.

to compare tiny team Ico to 200+ man teams like Naughty Dog ,Rockstar North or Polyphony is a laugh guys..

I think the main issue presented in this thread is the fact that they haven't released a single game in 8 years. That is pathetic and laughable. Well no, it's not laughable, it's just sad. :(

yea, they probably overshot the PS3's and their own capabilities with their vision for the project, after all Team Ico never was known for good tech and they needed the best in the world to get the PS3 to do what they showed in Last Guardians trailers - releasing a subpar "sorry, we couldn't do better now" version probably is out of the question aswell, as that would've destroyed the good reputation of the studio (yea, you could argue that the long wait for a new game had the same effect)

You need the pressure to make diamonds I guess.

hopefully it will come out this xmas along with a PS3 price-cut

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Doesn't matter if this game ever comes out now anymore. There's no way in hell it would -ever- turn a profit if it's been in development that long. Then again, they may not have been working on it at all during the last years, who knows. I find it hard to believe...

Sony Santa Monica has been sent to task to help Team ICO finish the task. The west will lend their expertise to their Japanese brethren.
