UPDATE

The price of Xenoblade seems to have stabilized, at a $99.99 price for used and a $179.99 for new. (Amazon)

Meanwhile, Metroid Prime Trilogy has a used price from $88.99 and new price of $169.99 (Amazon)

Looks like we can safely say that Xenoblade is now the most expensive Wii game. (At least in NA)

 

Quite a big feat for such an unknown game.

It depends on whether or not it becomes digitally available. If it doesn't, I fully expect it to fetch a pretty penny on ebay 5 years from now.

Limited supply from the very beginning. Nintendo didn't had much faith in the game....I guess they were wrong.

It was a Gamestop exclusive here in NA and there was this GIANT internet campain to bring in over to NA when after was released in Japan June 2010.

(NA got it April 2012) Nintendo finally decided to bring it over but it was pretty under-shipped and much sought after.

Also, many herald it as the best JRPG of this gen.

That being said, I doubt that the people who have a copy are thinking of parting with it and word of mouth spreads pretty quickly. I have some friends who want to borrow it, and I'm sure many others on the site have some too. (Hey FOX)

I mean that game was pirated 850,000 times. That's pretty large for a JRPG especially on the Wii. 

This game could've easily topped a mil and Nintendo screwed up the localization. I hoped they learned their lesson though and we don't have to wait for X as much.

just got my copy from gamestop for $48, had them transfer a copy from one store to my nearest one. :)

There are some other rare ones, too. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn has been out of print for a while, and it looked like it was nearing the level of Xenoblade's price.



The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

European prices are pretty normal. You can get it for 25€ used or 38€ new, maybe less.
