Forums - Nintendo - Crystal Dynamics Cast Doubt On Tomb Raider Wii U Port

Well, I wouldn't have bought it on Wii U, so maybe they aren't so stupid? Of course, I wouldn't pay for this "game" on any platform, so maybe they are? Who knows, all I know is, that this game looks like utter thrash.

Expectations heightened when the LinkedIn profile of Straight Right’s Chris Slater revealed that the Australian studio were porting a triple-A Square Enix game to Wii U.

-----

Translation: Final Fantasy XIII coming to Wii-U, enjoy.

Oh my goodness... if this is true... I don't even... oh my goodness...!!!

I wonder what they would put in the Wii-U version....if it does come out I just hope it isnt JUST a better looking port.

I wouldnt mind getting it....maybe....again...even though I got the PS3 ver for $14.99 new copy.....>.>

I'd hope not, FF13 series are teh suckz, I'd know, I have 13-2 and 2 copies of 13.....

I enjoy the fact that Crystal Dynamics thinks that Tomb Raider is still relevant today.

He stole Hideo Kojima's excuse.

Indeed. But hey, we can always hope for Lara's Crossbow Training...

When this game fails to be as much of a success as they thought it would be, do not say you weren't warned.

because being released on the WIi U; a console with a fraction of the userbase that either platforms its already being released on, will make all the difference in the world? Riiight.

I hope he's referring to it being a reboot. But it is most likely sarcasm^^

if it was, my mistake

A somewhat legit excuse, though that is one excuse that I'm afraid of.

Developers not porting or multiplating to Wii U, because they THINK they need to do something unique or special for the Wii U.

They need to realize that you can have normal games on this device as well, it doesn't need to be tailored to use the gamepad in some unique way or any wii motes. Just have it be normal.

i agree with this, but i can see where they are coming from, they have to give incentive to Wii U owners to buy their game. ANd if its just going to be the same thing as the game a person could get for a system they already own, it would be redundant. Especially if its going to be a late port.

I'd like to play FF XIII on my Wii U, so make it happen SE.

If FFXIII is indeed being ported, that would mean main FF games are coming back home.

I understand from a Late port point of view.  But if same release date then there is no excuse.  Let consumers decide if they "need" an incentive or are just fine with the same gameplay.    If I own all 3 consoles, 360, PS3 and Wii U.  If a game is released on all 3 at same time and all play the same, I'm not going to ignore the Wii U one because I feel it should have some feature or gimmick.  I would buy it for probably whatever console I like the most for whatever reason.  Whether its nestalgia fanboy reason, controler comfrot reason, trophies/achievements ect reason, Live/PSN/network, ect.

I'm NOT going to be like as I said "screw Wii U, they didn't utilize it as they could have"  I'll be like "hmm I have a choice on the system of my preference"

Why is everyone all of a sudden now expects Nintendo to have 3rd party support ? You know its Nintendo right?
