Forums - Nintendo - Vigil games sends a message to Nintendo.

Apparently no one bought Vigil games and thus their current IP the excellent Darksiders is headed for limbo.  So the guys at Vigil put this up on their facebook page as an open invitation to some big publisher.  Hmmmm....I guess I am not the only one who thought the IP would make a great fit for Nintendo.  What do you guys think?

I just dont understand why this is specifically a message for nintendo. Do you have a link?

I definitly want them to be saved though. It really is dumb otherwise. At least the IP has to be saved, but its such a good studio that would be beneficial in any of the bigger publishers... except microsoft. They would just run it down.

they have worked on the Wii U already though, so they could definitly fit Nintendo like a glove right now. Looking at it, Retro and Vigil are both based in austin... maybe it is a possibility. Retro could easily supervise things at Vigil and ease them into things.

Because that's Death of Darksiders clearly posed as Link from Skyward Sword.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Err...ok i see that. Dunno if its the best way to get Nintendo's atention, but i remain hopeful. I still think they could easily develop the darksiders series further and make a western Zelda aswell.

That's a reach. I think they just want to be bought by anyone, so they can continue with their jobs.

yeah nintendo should buy them

not really, considering two of the most hyped games this year are The last of us and beyond two souls and those are the two biggest example of when sony gave their devs the freedom to create the game they wanted.

Sony giving their devs creative freedom is the entire problem with their first-party strategy. Sony's devs are there to sell PlayStations, not to make "art."

I understand the point you're trying to make but I think you picked the wrong games to point it out for.  The Last of Us & Beyond, like Uncharted & Heavy Rain before them, are only very loosely part of the "videogames as art" debate.  If at all, really.  Shadow of the Collossus, Journey, Unfinished Swan would've been better games to point it out for.

The only creative freedom Sony give Quantic Dream is presumably not saying to them "We need more Heavy Rain STAT" and allowing them to make a new IP.  If they did say that, I'm sure David Cage would just take QD somewhere else.  And it works out for both parties, because QD's idea of a game falls pretty much in line with the cinematic design Sony has been chasing for years.

Well, sure having more exclusive games can't hurt.

Nintendo needs more studios and Vigil would had been a nice addition to their workforce.

It's a shame, really. Nintendo did say they wanted more western developers like Retro Studios. :/

Sony should get them and make Darksiders for the Vita. We need such games there. This series is not successful on homeconsoles, but may find its footing on a handheld. I for one would be interested in such a game, even in Vita ports of DS 1 & 2.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
