There's a ton of anime I can recommend that you can watch, each and every one of them is different from each other.

@what pezus said - Spot on!

Yes but do they all look similar in artstyle?  That is what I was talking about mostly as they don't stand out from one another.

Not at all. There's dozens of different studios and artstyles used to differeniate them all from each other. SHAFT and JC Staff are mighty different.

Muhahahaha

Its as if someone is asking if all games are similar. Just as there are different genres in games, so are there different genres in anime(and movies, and music, and every other artform).

Read the OP.  It has more to do with than just artstyle, it has something to do with they are similar in a lot of categories.  I want people who knows more about this to tell me there opinions on why the decline of JRPG games.  dont ridicule me if you arent going to answer the questio.

I feel you're contradicting yourself here....

The problem is what you think is anime. Its an artform, go read what anime constitutes and what the best anime are because right now you don't make sense. There are many different genres and different looking animes out there. You say you watched DBZ and Pokemon and then go on to say anime shows revolve around superpowers and girlish looking guys and lost its originality.  lmao

Thats like me saying all videogames are dudebro shooters after playing CoD.

I advice you to watch more anime. For example the anime in my sig and avatar Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Stopped reading by the beginning of the third paragraph, OP's approach on anime is very limited.

I'm glad that OP likes NnK, though.

And that is why im asking you guys for answers as I dont know what Im talking about.  I see myself as more of a casual to this type of stuff and how the world percieves it.  So tell me things about it.

And I was actually going to bring up call of duty and games similar to it in the OP but decided against it.  Why because they are on the rise right now.  I want to know why JRPGs are on the decline and it is something that I myself cant answer

I agree with Jay here, MOST Anime look the same to me. I personally don't like Anime because I believe its part of the reason why American comic industry is dying a slow death. For example, do these art look the same to you in anyway?

JRPGs on are the decline because they haven't received the same treatment as their WRPG counterparts when it comes to being released in the US. Outside of Square Enix, there are no publishers who have even considered advertising their games on television. They all have very tiny localization budgets and spend very little advertising. It's a cycle where you can't afford because they don't have mass appeal, but they'll never have mass appeal if you don't advertise.

When they get released in america they tend to not sell well and get reviewed poorly too though

If you don't know anything about anime, thats fine, but don't be prejudiced and biased, saying it lost its originality and they all look the same. 90% of anime in Japan are not aired abroad, let alone come out on dvd/bluray. Its usually the shonen genre for kids that popular in the west, like pokemon, yugioh, beyblade etc. But I assure you this is not representative of anime at all. Go to MyAnimeList and search for the Top List, there you will find the best rated anime from the past 50 years.

I think JRPGs have been on decline this generation because Japanese publishers have been isolating themselves to handhelds, making JRPGs more tailored to the Japanese market who is a large consumer of handhelds. JRPGs have become more obscure and less common in the rest of the world. It started when the gaming media exacerbated the issue by repeatedly calling JRPGs as stale, demanding that they change. While change is good, the changes JRPG developers have made have not been good. They have to try too hard in order to avoid media backlash, but by doing so remove the aspects of the games that made people like them. This wide swept failure resulted in publishers isolating themselves to the handheld Japanese market and we are where we are today.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
