The hair, the eyes, the outfits, the colors, al of it screams Im similar to me lol  I mean no offense or anything, just how I see it.  I know there is a lot of JRPG fans on this site so Im glad to be hearing your guys opinions on this :)

F*** no video links working

Look at both of these videos (the first couple of seconds to 1-2 minutes if you want) and you'll see there's a huge difference between the two anime

Shakugan No Shana: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BbsZWdmL_kM#t=313s

I'm just saying, all anime are different to each other just like all movies are different. They may have similar aspects yes but so do movies.

Edit: What you see in video games are clearly the majority are holding on to the core basics of a generic happy go lucky anime (imo), dont let what you have seen in video games spoil your view on what the anime world is really like. Its way more vast and varied, of course you wont see it unless you actually start watching some of the lesser known - non-main stream anime.

So do you think that those stand out?  Tell me anime or games that artisticly stand out as being different that is also good at the same time.  JRPG gaming is on a decline so i just want answers and it would be nice to hear from people who are fans of JRPG and anime type stuff.

Which Final Fantasies did you not like Jaywood?

FFVII
FF Crisis Core
FF XIII

never played any of the other FF games

So you've played everyones favorite childhood FF that blew people's minds back then. The prequel to that. And the generally hated current gen FF that was a boring linear snoozefest?

Oh man...try IX or X. Or even VIII for that matter, but people tend to find that hard to get into. XII is also hard to get into but has a fluid in game action battle system.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I like these Anime, you tell me if they all look the same, as I'm biased:

YEs they all give me that same vision in my head on how I would percieve evert other anime.  They eyes, the hair, and the artstyle's of each are very similar.  the scond pic looks a little different but not that much as it still has the colorful hair and blue hair as well.

Watch Saint Seiya!!!!

I think the problem is that Japanese stuff just doesn't appeal to you in general. You're over-generalizing an entire genre of media, while I'm sure you could point out the stylistic differences between western-type games such as Halo and Gears of War. A Japanese person might look at those games and any other western game like it and say the exact same thing as you. Its not really a problem with Western games though, its because the person has little interest in that style anyway so they just gloss over the differences. It's not necessarily a bad thing to do that, it's just a matter of what appeals to you. It doesn't mean that everything is the same though, because many people can pick out the differences between both Western and Eastern styles.

It's like how I perceive very law and order and every other CSI show to be the same.

I will admit though, that most animes nowadays have gotten a little dull.
But if you go back to the 2006-2009 era, you will find godsends of anime.

There's a ton of anime I can recommend that you can watch, each and every one of them is different from each other.

@what pezus said - Spot on!

Yes but do they all look similar in artstyle?  That is what I was talking about mostly as they don't stand out from one another.

Muhahahaha

Its as if someone is asking if all games are similar. Just as there are different genres in games, so are there different genres in anime(and movies, and music, and every other artform).

I have mentioned that Im not a fan of the style so this is not news to me.  What I want to know is why you guys think that JRPG games are on a decline because this is one reason i think it is.  If not then tell me why because I know little about this stuff.

Read the OP.  It has more to do with than just artstyle, it has something to do with they are similar in a lot of categories.  I want people who knows more about this to tell me there opinions on why the decline of JRPG games.  dont ridicule me if you arent going to answer the questio.
