One thing I always wondered while watching E3 is why all the companies choose to showcase these random "casual gamer" titles. Sony had Wonderbook, Microsoft had Kinect type games and Nintendo had Wii Fit or something like that (fitness game). What I don't understand is why ever year they always have these casual type games that are targeted towards the more casual gamer. Do the targeted audience even watch E3? I want to watch an E3 where they don't focus on Wonderbook for 20 god damn minutes and have some little girl play with skittles the tiger using the Kinect. I understand that these types of games do have a target audience but I just don't believe the audience they are targetting actually know what E3 is let alone watch it. It's fine if you have a booth after the conference where people can experience these games, but I don't see the reason for a 20 minute advertisement for the game during a press conference that is watched by "hardcore" gamers. Also I want to add that it is extremely awkward watching the people play the game. They try to look like they're having fun but it's so embarrassingto watch.
With that, I ask you one question. Do you guys think Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo should stop focusing on the more "casual" type of games during the E3 press conferences?
