Dude, Tatooine has TWO suns... that's gonna be alot of effin lens flare!

Seriously though, overall I'm satisfied with the choice.  Disney obviously went for the safest / least controversial pick (I can't believe Ben frickin Afflack was in the running for these films.. Come on, man!)  The two best things going for the new SW films is that Lucas is neither writing nor directing them, so no more cringe-worthy dialogue coupled with the shot / reverse shot blocking of a daytime soap opera in between mindless, soulless battles against an endless supply of battle droids and clone troopers.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

He's good so maybe the new Star Wars won't be a write off after all.

His shows were awesome but always got weird as the seasons went on like Lost and Alias.

I'll just leave this here...

Entirely unconfirmed rumour, he has previously ruled it out so I definitely wouldn't count on it

yes, but the wrap is supposedly very reliable at this sort of stuff.  Definitely happier with Abrams directing then Affleck, not that Affleck is neccessarily a bad director.  I think he is a much better director than actor, but I don't think he has the nerd cred to do something like star wars.

Abrams would be the absolute perfect fit for this position, in my opinion.

NO he's the new director the  announcement  was all over the news here in Australia, so I came here to see if any one was talking about it.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Well, so far it has just been anonymous sources confirming it, neither Disney, lucas, or abrams have officially confirmed it.  So right now it has been all but confirmed, but not official. Yet...
