Forums - Politics - "Green movement" partially funded by OPEC?

All technology is expensive at first, just look at how expensive 4K resolution TV's are now, eventually they will be very cheap. The same will be for wind turbines and solar panels and gradually they will get better and help to meet our energy needs. But what I fear is that alternative fuels aren't being developed at all currently, which is something we must do now. I dread to see how expensive oil will get in the future, current oil prices are only a warning of this. But it just seems OPEC is exploiting this as much as they can already. Also, i don't want to see the Arctic Ocean turn into an oil slick because of the greed and short term thinking of some oil companies.

Both Wind and Solar power have been researched for centuries and, while there have been improvements, advancement comes slowly. This isn't due to lack of research though because there has been significant research funding in solar electricity by many governments around the world since the 1930s ...

In other words, it doesn't matter what you want you're stuck with fossil fuels and the only choice you have is whether you want those developed with environmental controls in western democracies or whether you want them developed with no concern for the environment by third world dictators.
