This game doesn't really look next generation in my opinion. The opening shot with the player running by the ocean, the water looks like a flat polygon, no waves. The water's edge where it meets the land isn't even a smooth curve, it's very blocky. Later in the trailer with the player fighting in a field filed with bushes the camera does a slight move and the bushes all rotate to face the camera indicating they are simply flat sprites & not modeled in any way. This is the same way the trees were done in Mario 64, or the bushes in Dear Ester, they look good in stills but in motion it's distracting. The part where the player enters the robot and flies off of the mountain top the world seems to be fairly spars aside from the mountains themselves, it makes me wonder how much pop-up there will be when moving around.
Those main three points are why, in my eyes this game doesn't look "nex gen".
It could be a very good game though, but the graphics are just "good for 7th gen" IMHO.

the flaws become very apparent once you watch the video in 720p in full screen but you have to understand most nintendo fans are not used currentgen graphics, i imagine if a game, like killzone3, god of war 3 and halo 4 came out on wiiu they would say it looks better then currentgen.

Be careful with saying stuff like this.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I lol'd.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw that red X was:

The trailer was standard until he stepped foot into the mecha - then I was mildly impressed. Very promising, gonna suck to wait another 2 years for it.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

how do you know this have you played the game, i think RDR looks much better, i'm sure you will find many with a similer opinion.

Nope so far we have a few lead by you a devout member of the Church of Sony who despite all your Wii U negativity feel the need to come in here and continue arguing the most laughable point we've seen in a while, the gif I've posted which will aloso be below highlights how superior X is to RDR in detail, from character models, animations to even the foilage moving with you in battles. You can even pick out the stones and rocks on the ground, you won't accept this because well you're you the person who still thinks the U is weaker then the 360 and PS3. Had you said Last of Us or something is detailed you may have a case but then you'll run into the wall that is the fact that Last of Us is not a large open world and linear, what it comes down to is your reaction is proof Nintendo have made a right move with this game as you're only here even after saying you're done because they've put that doubt in you other wise you wouldn't be here.

hmm they should add effects of water splashing and dust flying up when the tail swings

would have been a nice detail

Water does splash when you're near it but I know what you mean, the dust is a touch they could add, I like they plants moving with you in battle.

Ninjablade is just trying to annoy the people who came to this thread because they are excited for this game. Comparing it to RDR is laughable. Choose Halo4 or The Last of Us even...but RDR? lol. The world being displayed in X is literally about 10-20X the size, with details in the distance still visible. Those details include realistic mist from waterfalls, grass, moving objects... and it's all done with incredible lighting. The speeder moving over the landscape reminds me of the Attack of the Clones. Everytime I watch this trailer I appreciate the graphical detail more...and it gets me more excited for the game!

how do you know this have you played the game, i think RDR looks much better, i'm sure you will find many with a similer opinion, once direct feed video come out and 720p pics are released you will see all the flaws, that i have already spotted in the video.

I said I was done but you are so ignorant I couldn't resist....

You are saying this image...

have more detail than this?

looks the pic i posted above, there really not far from each other graphicly, but i think the lighting is much better and prefer the the art direction.

yes it is.

It's rediculous to use RDR when there are actually current-gen games that make the gap much smaller. It makes the devil's advocate postings by Ninja that much more silly.

if i post pics of halo 4, killzone 3 and god war 3, it would make the game look really bad honestly.
