Forums - Sony - I just figured out Sony's plan for the Vita

interesting theory...

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Wait a minute... Maybe Nintendo is doing the exact same thing and actually don't want the Wii U to sell massive numbers? Maybe Nintendo also made false predictions suggesting that sales actually would be massive just to be able to announce "The most Epic sales rebound in the history of video gaming!" once they start supporting the console for real?

O.O

I truly hope no company is that stupid. -.- (Yes, I know you're kidding, but still!)

Hmm... But what if stupidity is not involved? What if it goes even deeper than?

Maybe this is a grand plan cooked up by some select people at Sony, Nintendo and God knows who else to make the stocks drop to utter shit levels? All this to make it possible for those aware of the true intentions to buy more stocks at the much lower price just to see their values skyrocket when the actual software/pricing support kicks in?

I love my psvita but I do want more games so I see why people won't buy one - I guess as soon as they bring out monster hunter or a gta for it there will be more sales but it has to be soon

I never understood Sonys target market. They were targeting early 20s men who likely are out of college looking for a job with a few priorities ahead of buying a handheld like rent and groceries. Nintendo has the advantage of appealing to the kids as well as adults who grew up playing Nintendo. When Nintendo announced the 3ds with a new kid Icarus, I was instantly on board. As a 28 year old gamer (at the time) I hadn't been more excited for a console in years. 3d gaming and a sequel to kid Icarus were things I could dream about growing up in the 90s.

Sony's target market is people that enjoy immersive experiences and games that border on being works of art.  That's why the vast majority of games on their consoles have a very heavy emphasis on story in comparison to the other consoles egs.  games like "Heavy Rain", "Beyond Two Souls", the Uncharted Series, "God of War". and Metal Gear Solid + some of their old franchises that went multiplayer this time out.  No one does story driven gaming any better than Sony consoles.
