Forums - Microsoft - [Unofficial Rumour] World Exclusive: Durango unveiled

so it will be a blu-ray player then

Price is what i want to know really,i'm not technical enough but 8gb of ram sounds pretty impressive for a console, people seem to be implying kinect/multimedia use in this thread,it certainly sounds like these new consoles will pack a nice little punch, not sure how sony can afford it really but hopefully it won't be long until we are console co-opping in some great big fantasy/sci-fi worlds which is what i want to be doing

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

These specs are real everybody, you can be in denial all you want but the ps4 will be by far the most powerful console nextgen.

So the 720 will be about 3.6TFlops and the PS4 will be about 6TFlops? Is that what you're saying? Just checking...

Your multiplier is way off on everything.

edit: nvm this is not the right place for this question

you do know not everything is based on gpu flops.  CPU,  amount of ram and how fast the ram plays a huge role, wii u has a decent gpu compared to ps4/durunt but everything else is extremly weak, even compared to current gen, the wiiu has some serous bottle knecks that's why multiplatform games are inferior so far.

At this point I do feel a bit sorry for Nintendo in terms of raw power. With Orbis specs it would be complete.

The WiiU's GPGPU is actually quite powerful. It's only by comparison, is its CPU relatively weak. Given the clocks and RAM, it should still be able to process tasks in a timely manner, and given the right guru, we should see games of that nature within the next year.

WiiU only has 1gb of ram for gaming and its 2x slower then 360 ram, so it has the biggest problem holding back current gen, ram.

Keep dreaming!!!

i read all your posts but i just can't see the 720 secret sauce making up ggdr5 in sony's manchine, not to mention the much better gpu.

Of course not, but there's still no way your multipliers work. Keep in mind that, the CPU that you call weak is an out of order CPU, which means it is far and away more efficient per clock than a competing in order CPU. The rumor here also states that the RAM in the Nextbox is DDR3, which is what the U has. On top of that, Out of order CPUs do a lot to help negate the possible bottleneck of 'slow' DDR3.

While both the Durango and Orbis will certainly be a bit more powerful than the Wii U, the 6-10x multiplier that is way too high.

Not if it's dual channel, the estimate you're referring to assumes single channel, which is unlikely.
