Neil Thompson from Bioware shit all over this article earlier today. People need to stop taking every rumor and acting like it is true. BTW you can just tell a Sony fan boy wrote this when you are dropping things like Sony will be the console for gamers.

lol i only owned a 360 this gen, but if this is true, i'm going with the best hardware money can buy.

PC then?

When i said hardware i meant consoles only, i dont even have a pc, i own a laptop, so i would have to invest 1000$ to get something that can run 720/ps4 games, i'm not hardcore like that.

just no dude...really don't go off of one rumor and start threads like this. There are many rumors that say the opposite too.

imho I doubt either would be more powerful by a significant margin over the other anyway.

its looking like reality  though, eurogamer is not calling it a rumor by the way, they say they are pretty sure about there source.

nah man they are several conflicting rumors about this floating around. The BEST you can trust on is imho a guy with the tag mr accurate over at gaf. Nsanity posted his quote yesterday too. We are basically going to get two consoles similar in overall ppower but strengths in different areas :) I doubt either MS or Sony fans would be disappointed at the end of the day

Based on those rumors, they make mention of the RAM. With the NextBox having 8GB of DDR3, with 3 reserved for OS (Leaving 5GB for games) while the PS4 is rumored to have 4GB of GDDR5, with 512MB reserved for OS.

From what I gather, even when it comes to RAM, both will end up very similar, as far as games are concerned. The NextBox seems to be heading in a much more "media hub" kind of route than the PS4 is. It will be intesting to see how everything pans out in the end.

Oh so silly ninja blade. Silly silly boy you indeed are.

(My point is if you believe rumors this far from the release, your gonna have a bad time)

4GB of GDDR5 is great for graphics, DDR3 not so much, it slow ram more for media and kinect, there suppose to add some kind method to counter the slow but  ram.

That's the problem..so many conflicting info.  guy over at gaf predicted the 3gb for OS thing months and months ago actually. But there are few saying that MS trying to bring it down to around 1.5 for the final product. It really is hard to make a call with such an incomplete picture of the overall console

speaking of which I wonder if they will make illumiroom a part of the nextbox from the get go.

I agree 100% on that. At the end the only advantage the PS4 might get is the Japanese developer supports for JRPGs exclusive. Powerful doesn't mean anything and its the games that drive consumer interest.

Im calling it now. People that focus on graphics and specs will ultimately be disappointed come launch of the next consoles.
