Based on the rumor in this thread, this is indeed an apt analogy. 

You mean the link that says ports would be easy because they would have similar architecture?  The link that says they will have essentially the same cpu and gpu?  The link that describes two different approaches to memory, neither one neccessarily better than the other?  The link that is completely devoid of actual specifics but just generalities?  The link thats only source is an anonymous user on reddit claiming to be in the know?

basically, the rumor is crap to begin with, but nothing in that rumour actualy indicates ps4 would be as far ahead of the nexbox as you are trying to indicate with your analogy?

4GB GDDR5 is much better for graphics then 8 gigs of ddr3 and the article says sony is really investing in there gpu while the 720 is investing in kenect 2.0 and apps.

The nexbox supposedly has more edram as well, which is way better than both.  I agree it looks like xbox is being built to be a more versatile system then the ps4, meaning they are designing it with more in mind then just games based on the rumours so far, but it is still too early to tell.

also, this article is hardly something to reference because for one, the source is anonymous, and two, he is referencing dev kits that arent finalized.  Who even knows what version of the dev kits the guy saw, if any.

like i said anything is poissible but i don't like what i'm hearing from the next xbox i expected to be more powerful then ps4, very disappointed from what i'm hearing so far.

Wow, what a misleading thread title and the OP makes it even worse. The only time in the article that the PS4 is said to be more powerful is pure speculation from the writer not the source. Everything the article claims the source said makes the two systems sound the same with the only difference being slightly different RAM strategies with neither being worse than the other.

This thread should get locked as flame bait.

both 720 and ps4 will have the same games nextgen, except for few exclusives, its just not worth spending 300$ for a few games imo, this generation imo has been the best for games ever, there is just so many great games out there its crazy.
