Forums - Gaming - Looks like next xbox is gonna be a good deal less powerful then PS4

Are you basing this off Kr4T0s post over at Reddit? Well look at his name, he might be a bit biased. But I think he does make a very good point and he is probably right. Just don't expect to see a huge difference. 10% power difference max between PS4/720 is what you should expect. We'll probably see Sony's 1st party games really taking advantage of that extra power again like they did this gen.

anyway multiplats on next-gen should be very easy to port. Both consoles are supposedly using the same CPU so I expect games to be optimized much better than they were this gen.

it depends really its looking more like a 20% difference, it depends how much the game is pushing the hardware.

I think you'll be surprised at how much has already leaked. We know more about PS4/720s specs than we do about the Wii U.....

We know? They're only rumors. Dont take them to heart or your in for a rude awakening come the release.

Yay!!!

Interesting since just yesterday we had a report posted on this site saying the exact opposite.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really care which is more powerful.

Multi-platform games are going to be made for the lowest common denominator, anyway. Sure, one might have a few first-party exclusives "that you can't play on the other consoles" but who really cares? Naughty Dog games are going to look great regardless. 343i games are going to look great regardless. And PC, of course, will trump them both.

Maybe it's just me, because there are many other elements about games that interest me far more than "graphix", but I don't think it will make much real-world difference.

Moreover, "my console is more powerful than your console" fights have always seemed hellaciously childish.

what you talking about dude ps3 and 360 are equal in power yet some MP games are so bad on ps3, they can be considerd almost exclusive, hell yes specs matter.

That wasn't because of a difference in power, that was because of a difference in architecture.  Even then, most of the worst examples, such as Bayonetta, were because of developer incompetence.

not really, i read that it was a issue with the hardware where 360 had a nice advantage, for the first 3-4 years 360 games were a vastly better multiplatform experiance.

These rumors are too similar for them to not be true. There is a high chance that these leaks are actually real.

If true, the likely analogy would be: Orbis:Xbox, Durango:PS2, Wii U:Dreamcast

Dont you mean Wii U: GameCube lol?

Those Mobile PCs or whatever they are called: Nvidia Shield , etc will be: Dreamcast.

But the GameCube was more powerful than the PS2, so if we shoved that in there, PS4 would be GameCube, and Wii U would be PS2.

Is anyone confused yet? :p

Looks like next xbox is gonna be a good deal less powerful then PS4!

ppffffttt

lol...no

The only hardware advantage the 360 had was a slightly better gpu. They had the same amount of ram and the ps3 had a much more powerful cpu.  Overall, the ps3 was a more powerful system, and you can see that in there first party games.  Only reason ports were worse on the ps3 is because the architecture with the cell processor was hard to program for.

Lol. Dont you ever think that these rumors are just following a trend. I can almost gurantee you that in the next few months that these rumors will show something totally opposite.

It will be a roller coaster ride till the actual release.

Yay!!!

Also, an anonymous internet user claiming to have insider information is about as bad a source as you can get. I dont really understand how this even became an article...
