So you can't. I have seen the ending and I really don't understand what are you talking about. Tidus was not real and Auron was already dead? Or is there something I am missing.

The part with Yuna was tragic, basically what the ending was about.  If you still don't understand what I'm talking about you should just let it go, but I'm sure you'll keep on nagging me with "what part was tragic with Yuna"

So if that is the definition of tragic, most games are tragic. Think of the poor mushrooms in mario games for example...

You're comparing apples to oranges. Character development and a cast you experience throughout the game vs a mushroom with feet that has no back ground.

Well, actually when it comes to jrpg:s those characters are like mushrooms for me. So I think you have a good point. I can't see that as tragic as I don't care about the characters of jrpg:s at all.

As a curiosity, I was very happy when the annoying girl on FF 7 got owned by that guy wearing black dress. Heck, the genius with "Now annoying girl can't talk or walk" was absolute gold. :D

Most of the times the story parts are quite awful to see. But why are you so concerned about poor old me?

Some times those story pieces are so cheesy that they will become camp. It is actually quite amusing.

Few times the story line is interesting, which is great!

There hasn't been a single FF since FFVII that the fans (and critics alike) have had an overall consensus that it was a good FF and there has been a lot of discussion that the quality of the games have been droping since then.

To some, FFX was utter garbage, to others it was FFXII, some enjoyed FFXIII while others couldn't even play 5 minutes of FFVIII. I doubt that there will ever be a consensus as there was back in FFIV - FFVII days, unless S-E comes out with a genre defining FF again, and even then i'm skeptical about how it would be received amongst such a fractured opinion.

Personally, up until FFXIII, i've enjoyed every single FF a lot, to the point of considering FFXII my second favourite in the series right behind FFVI and to me, the latest iteration wasn't up to scratch to the previous entries (haven't played the sequel).
To me the quality isn't decreasing just because one game was sub-par (I don't take in account spin-offs, because for every shitty one, there's a great one as well), because for all the poor implementation of some elements of FFXIII, as an old time follower of the series, one just have to remind themselves of the disgrace that was the original FFIII, which almost ended the series while it was still on the NES (and yes, Sakaguchi did make the worst FF so far, just as he did the best).

History show us that in this medium, people have very short memories and even shorter critical capacities when it comes to long time gaming series or fan favourite ones.

final fantasy ix is less hated then vii, making it more universally accepted :_)

IX is probably the most accepted amongst old time fans, especially those who are in the FFVI > FFVII camp (and there are a lot of those). FFVII mostly suffers from the disdain of those who believe that FFVI is superior to it in everyway and refuse to see anything good in it. While FFVI is my favourite FF of all time, I think that FFVII was also an excellent game.

If anything, the major rift in FF fans began exactly with FFVII (the only exception being, as you said, IX), with FFVIII taking the full force of the "FF is losing quality" arguments for the first time by both fans and critics alike (myself, I loved FFVIII).

I feel sorry for you cuz you're deliberately wasting tens of hours of your life on something you don't enjoy,  jrpgs revolve heavily around story driven character development.

Who said that I don't enjoy jrpg:s? FF X is one of my favourite games ever! You have a weird attitude.

You have no connection to any character in any jrpg and the stories are mostly painful to you, yet someone else has a weird attitude. Let's get this straight you criticise a game for having a poor plot and setup despite having a bias towards the genre... which you also apparently enjoy playing, you see no flaw to this?
