Forums - Gaming - Sony and Microsoft would still best Nintendo even if the Orbis and Durango were just as powerful

Yes. In the core market yes. Online community. 3rd party support.

Overall, debatable.

Fun thought :3

I guess it all depends. Nothing is written in stone. I still believe nintendo make the best systems though.

As for what the general public think we will have to see. Microsoft is taking the route 'hardcore' gamers have blasted nintendo for all these years.

Why? What is your rationale?

If that were to happen, then there would be little question of Nintendo getting third-party support. For the first time, it really would come down to exclusives vs. exclusives vs. exclusives. I think all the big 3 would be fine in that situation.

That is, of course, assuming no one comes out with a game-changer in terms of a new interface device or method.

What route is that? They are not just making a more powerful system and throwing some killer exclusives at it?

Motion control route mate.

For what its worth I think its good to see companies expanding and exploring new tech. Those gamers will have to accept that core and casual can coexist eventually.

There are also things that can go wrong on sony's end. They have screwed up two system launches and fallen behind on three occasions (psp). Companies could likely lose confidence in them. But I think two system launches being screwed gives them a good chance to get this right.

Nah... Nintendo has a lead on them... Plus mario and everything else they toss out. Nintendo has Mojo.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Yes. The Gamecube and to a lesser extent the N64 showed they can't quite compete. That's why they came up with the Wii in first place.

No, I don't think so, since if they all had the same amount of power they'd probably get the same amount of 3rd party support - and that means it's all down to 1st party exclusives... Which Nintendo rocks at.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

In the end it all comes down to the games, and if the consoles were similar in specs, third parties would have no reason not to release games for Nintendo's console, so it would all come down to the exclusives. These days, no one sells more first party copies than Nintendo, and, as proven by the Wii, they can, more or less, carry a console on their own. I don't see how M$ or Sony could beat that. Well, M$ could buy timed exclusives, but what could Sony do?

Yes. They'll have better third party support, and their first pary efforts (or most of them) sell very well.

Why is this a NSFW thread? xD

I'm not sure - I think that 720/PS4 would sell more units if they were as powerful as the WiiU, so I guess that answers the question
