How is online gaming in brazil? Too expensive for most? Too slow speed? Do people pay for xbox live?

God of War franchise is one of the top sellers here... God of War III sold in just in the first month over 30k copies priced at $100 here.

Microsoft has stated it before. Its actually higher than that, I believe. I need to find the citation, but about 60% of XBL users are gold members, and there are well north of 30m XBL subs now.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Err, here's Gold stats back in 2010: http://techcrunch.com/2010/12/02/microsoft-only-50-percent-of-xbox-live-users-pay-for-gold-subscription/

Just as I thought. Nowhere near 30m paid members. That 12.5m is from 2010, the number could be a bit higher now, or it could be lower. We won't know until we get updated numbers.

The main thing that its Interactive Entertainment Division CEO, Dennis Durkin, said that a whopping 50 percent of Xbox Live users actually pay the $60 per year for Xbox Live. There’s 25 million Xbox Live subscribers, so you’re looking at something like 12.5 million Xbox Live Gold subscribers. How many of these 12.5 million people aren’t jerks? That’s all I want to know.

Actually, by now, its probably past the 23 million you were arguing about. Upon further digging..

As of January 2012, there were 40 million XBL users. The 50% ratio of gold users has been the same since 2008, so there's no way to assume its dropped. (http://www.tgdaily.com/games-and-entertainment-brief/60687-xbox-live-users-topple-40-million)

GFK released a chart of the best selling games in the Brazil in 2012. Quite interesting, especially because PES easily beats FIFA in Brazil. Actually, this is probably a reflection that Konami have been investing a lot in the Brazilian market, including Portuguese audio and licencing all Brazilian teams from the first division, whereas EA left the Portuguese audio to a download and missed a few teams.

Interesting, however, this takes in acount only the big retailers that sell games made in Brazil. I have 50 PS3 games ans 30 xBOX360 games, all originals, however I imported them all, except for Hitman Absolution, wich I bought in a brazillian big retailer called, SHOCK, Wallmart...

In defense of brazillian gamers, I have to say that my collection has no soccer games, a lot of RPGs and horror survivals, also NO CALL OF DUTY.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

40m was 1 year ago and Live has been rising every quarter according to Microsoft... So 25m Gold members seems to fit. With another 20m Silver.

Unsurprisingly Football games are big there, but there charts are all over the place, New games seem to sell with older editions of the game for some reason

Talking about Fifa and PES, the 2013 version cost aroud US$ 90. The 2012 version is only US$ 30 or 40 now, so it's a good deal since these games didn't change a lot, just roster updates and minor improvements.

You say that, and yet both PES and FIFA somehow manage to sell millions of copies worldwide every year. I don't get it
