Pokémon X & Y - English Names & Screenshots

Following their reveal in CoroCoro on Wednesday, The Pokémon Company has now announced the US names of the latest Pokémon. First are the two pre-evolutions of Vivillon, Kofukimushi shall be known as Scatterbug which knows String Shot. Kofuurai will be known as Spewpa, which can learn Protect. Then, Shishiko will be known as Litleo, with its signature move known as Noble Roar and Furabebe will be known as Flabébé. Players may see different Flabébé holding flowers of different colors when encountering them in the wild.
In addition to this, they have also confirmed various names. The starting town, Asame Town will be called Vaniville Town and Hakudan City shall be known as Santalune City, with the rival characters being Shauna, Tierno, Trevor, Serena (The Female Trainer), and Calem (The Male Trainer) respectively. Pansy, the journalist, shall be known as Alexa while the City Gym Leader, Viola is called Viola.
Shauna is the first trainer you meet and is eager to learn about her friends travels. Tierno intends to create a dance team with his Pokémon. Trevor's goal is to complete the Pokédex, and he's the one to give you it. He'll often compare dexes with you. Serena & Calem are your neighbours. You will also receive the Roller Skates in Santalune City

Pokémon X & Y - Special Edition Console & New Pokémon

During the special preview airing of the new movie, a trailer for Pokémon X & Y was shown and within it, it was announced that a special 3DS LL will be revealed. Due for release in October 2013, the console features a special print of Xerneas & Yveltal on the top case. It is said to come in Blue & Red colours. Also, during the trailer, a Pokémon called Orotto (オーロット), possibly romanised to Aulotte, was said to feature, but this is yet to be confirmed. We'll provide more details and pictures as they come

Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, White 2, X & Y - Global Link

The Global Link has updated with an notice regarding the Pokémon Global Link. First, the Global Link will open up for a special X & Y version on October 12th 2013, after a 12 day long maintenance from the start of October. However, from October 12th 2013, various Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 & White 2 features will go offline.
Putting a Pokémon to sleep will go offline on December 10th 2013.
The trial version of the Dream World will go offline on October 12th 2013, as will new user registration.
The GTS tracking for Gen V ends on January 14th 2014 and Rating Mode on Random Matchup goes offline on January 14th 2014.
The ability to do WiFi Memory Link in Black 2 & White 2 also goes offline on January 14th 2014.
C-Gear, Musical and Pokédex Skin changing deactivates on January 14th.
Waking up your Pokémon to get items and Pokémon also deactivates on January 14th. You will be able to wake your Pokémon up from the game side at any time, but the ability to do so from the Global Link deactivates on January 14th
However, using the GTS in the games, Free Rating in the Random Matchup and all the other in-game online features will continue. It's currently unclear what features the new Global Link will have but when we have these details, they'll be posted

Pokémon X & Y - Honedge details

Following on from its reveal yesterday, the official site has posted a few new details about the new Pokémon, known to them as Hitotsuki. This Pokémon is to be known in English as Honedge and some details. It is now known that Honedge comes into being when a departed spirit possesses a sword that once belonged to humans. It can use the blue cloth attached to its hilt as nimbly as an arm. Pokémon Trainers who carelessly take this blade in hand may find the blue cloth wrapping itself around them and draining their energy! Honedge can also learn Swords Dance. It is 2'07" and weighs 4.4lbs. They also sent some screenshots which have been added to our pre-release screenshot page. Click the image to go to the page

Pokémon X & Y - Overview Trailer

During the Japan Expo, a new Pokémon was revealed. This Pokémon is known in France as Monorpale and Japan as Hitotsuki and is a Steel/Ghost type. We're not sure when this Pokémon will be introduced online to the English fandom but it will in Masuda's message. During battle, this sword Pokémon will unsheath itself. Following their reveal on Sunday, we now have pictures of the two special 3DS XL models being released for Pokémon X & Y this October in Japan. Costing 22,800¥, these consoles come with Pokémon X or Pokémon Y pre-installed within it and a 4GB SD Card. The blue Pokémon 3DS XL will be released all around Japan, while the gold one will be released only within Pokémon Centers. It is currently unclear if one, or both, will make it outside of Japan. Pokémon - CoroCoro Reveals

The next batch of CoroCoro information has been released and this batch showcases more information on the upcoming games Pokémon X & Y. We're currently in the process of translating so keep checking back. Xerneas is Fairy-type, Yveltal is Dark/Flying. Xerneas has an ability called Fairy Aura while Yveltal has one called Dark Aura. Fairy Aura powers up Fairy-type moves while Dark Aura powers up Dark-type moves. Xerneas has a special move called Geo Control and Yveltal one called Death Wing
Pancham's evolution is called Koronda (コロンダ) and has the ability Iron Fist. It is Fighting/Dark-type. It has the move Hammer Arm and a new method of evolution
The Squids are called Maika (マーイーカ), the Rotation Pokémon, and its evolution Karamanero (カラマネロ) the Reverasl Pokémon and are Dark/Psychic-type Pokémon. Maika has a move called Turn Over which reverses stat changes. It's a Dark-type move
The puff ball is called Peroppafu ( ペロッパフ) and is also a Fairy-type. Its ability is a new one called Sweet Pale which prevents your allies from falling asleep. It's the Cotton Candy Pokémon and has the new move Drain Kiss. It is exclusive to Pokémon X
The pink bird is called Shushup (シュシュップ) and is Fairy-type. It is the Perfume Pokémon and has the ability of Healer. It knows the move AromaTherapy. It is exclusive to Pokémon Y
Honedge has the ability of No Guard
Clauncher is exclusive to Pokémon X while Skrelp is exclusive to Pokémon Y
There's a new Gym leader, with the robot arms, called Shitoron (シトロン) while the other Gym Leader is called Zakuro (ザクロ)
The professor is called Purataanu (プラターヌ). He will occasionally battle you.
The evil team is called Team Flair/Flare (フレア団)

Pokémon X & Y - Pokémon Smash

It has been announced that the Pokémon Smash episode, due to air on July 21st 2013 is to feature some gameplay of Pokémon X & Y. While much of this is likely to be mirroring the information of CoroCoro, the episode has the host Akiyama playing a copy of the game borrowed from game director Junichi Masuda so has the potential to show some further footage. We'll provide details as and when we get them

Following their reveal in CoroCoro yesterday, The Pokémon Company has now announced the US names of the latest Pokémon. First, the evolution of Pancham, Goronda is to be called Pangoro.
The first squid Pokémon, Maika, will be known in English as Inkay, with its move Turn Over being called Topsy-Turvy. Its evolution, Karamanero, will be known as Malamar.
Next, the Pokémon Peroppafu will be known as Swirlix with its move Drain Kiss being called Draining Kiss and its ability, Sweet Veil, shall keep its name
Finally, the Pokémon Shushup will be known as Spritzee. The New Pokémon Page has been updated with various details about each Pokémon.
Next comes the details of Xerneas and Yveltal. Xerneas' ability is to keep its name of Fairy Aura, while its move Geo Control shall be called Geomancy. Yveltal's ability also keeps its Japanese name of Dark Aura while its move, Death Wing, shall be called Oblivion Wing. In addition to this, they have also confirmed various names of characters. The Professor, Purataanu, shall be known in English as Professor Sycamore. Team Flare will keep its Japanese name and finally, the two Gym Leaders, Shitoron and Zakuro shall be called Clemont & Grant respectively Clemont has a sister called Bonnie.
Miracle trade is known as Wonder Trade and allows you to receive Pokémon without knowing what you'll get. O-Powers keep their name. The Holo Caster is also used to communicate with other characters in the game. For the first time in the main Pokémon series, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y allow you to receive a Pokémon not yet registered in your Pokédex via GTS trade! Some O-Powers will temporarily increase a Pokémon’s stats, while others make it easier to catch wild Pokémon or increase the Experience Points gained in battle.
You can also take photos in the game that can be shared and posted to the Pokémon Global Link. Milestones in your journey can also be shared on it, and can then be posted to social networks.
Participants of the upcoming Global Showdown WiFi Competition will gain entry to XY Test Competition. The online battle features also result in a loss if you disconnect.

Edit @ 03:08: My friend gin went to see the Pokémon movie today and can confirm the Pokémon Orotto, which we first posted about two weeks ago, exists. It's described as an evil looking tree Pokémon and was seen within a horde battle in the trailer. In The Games Department Pokémon X & Y - Movie Trailer details Following on from yesterday's reveal of five new Pokémon and features, which you can check out below, and the reveal of Oorotto two weeks ago and the confirmation last night, we have a few new details from the trailer that aired with the movie, Extremespeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens. Other than the inclusion of the Pokémon Oorotto, much of the trailer included details which we already knew. However, the trailer did include footage of the main character on a bike, indicating that they haven't been replaced by rollerskates and riding of Pokémon. In addition to this, zenity have kindly done us a decent image of Oorotto. This is an approximation of how the Pokémon looks, so things may look a little different when it's officially revealed. We'll bring more as and when it comes
