September 2008 for 360......a criminally long time ago. If they were more aggressive and less conscious about profits, this closing gap would be much wider.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

No. The 360 is much more cheaper than what it was in 2008. The 360S was as low as €149 here in the holidays and I'm sure in America it is much cheaper aswel.

For PS3

2007:

60GB model to 499

2008:

80/160GB models, 80GB model to 399

2009:

2011:

249 160GB Slim model

On the higher end models they could have maybe cut price, but not on the Arcade. By late 2008(?) it was at the $200 price and if they kept cutting the price they would have undervalued their product and I feel would have probably shortened it's life span.

Not cutting the price further was, I think, a great decision on their part. They instead decided to focus on adding value to those price ranges rather than just dropping price to entice customers and you know what, it worked.

Now with the 720 on the horizon a new cut would make sense as a $150 entry price would look very enticing against the newly released 720 which may cost ~$350-$400. Whichever they buy MS will be happy as those 360 buyers may eventually migrate to the 720 when the price drops in the future.
